Mine are fitted onto old OEM springs - so probably about the same ride height at brand new -10mm H&R's. Ride Height looks very similar to yours.

I would not use -30mm springs with them for two reasons -

1) That's too low for a road car and the crappy strut setup cannot deal with it without affecting geo
2) There is limited travel as it is before you get close to the bumpstops. I am actually considering trimming the bumpstops on mine down (I fitted new bumpstops all round when the dampers went on).

I would reccomend them though. The FSD name has been around for ages I used to use FSD stuff on commercial vehicles, the FSD technology is not a new thing either and is the same as 'platform damping' as used by FOX etc on bikes, crossers, ATV's and many other things.

~5k miles on my FSD's, no regrets.

Agreed. 225 front, 255 rear on mine. Killed understeer on track but I since realise I should have gone down on the rear, not up on the front. I think this is the main reason for the subtly numbed steering feel mine has now.

I actually want those same wheels you have (my favourite 986 wheel) and think I should fit some along with skinner, more 'touring' type tyres to make the car a bit more lively.

My 2.7 with 255 Advan rears has a level of traction off the line which is actually very impressive!

From the research I’ve been doing for my 996, the FSD’s aren’t suitable for use with -30 springs. Koni do a kit for the 996 with -30 springs and suitable dampers. Not sure if there’s the same for 986.

I can't speak for Porsche ones but I used to do parts for MINI's and Koni changed their mind on the FSD about two years after they launched it. They had said stock height only but then even started selling it with matched springs for the MINI's.

I can't say I was ever that impressed with any of the major brands offerings, Koni, Bilstein and KW were all a bit meh for me. I found the usual suspects (KW soft and lacked control on the lower end ones, Bilstien were harsh and a bit st, Koni were ok, and the UK brands were mostly awful and rusted into nothing.)

Personally I run BC RM's on my Cooper S these days which are far better than most of the European options imo, when I started selling the Chinese brands in 2008 they weren't the best but they have really upped their game recently. they are the race / track option but aren't too bad comfort wise. We sold them for a while as well and they hold up well to weather these days esp with a coating of Dyanax UC or AV8 on them.
