Best check what offset is available I'd be very surprised if BBS didn't offer the correct offset, these fitted fine least till i added the Porsche calipers.

And one more picture in the light

Hi pal

Unfortunately nowhere in the UK has the offsets I’d need for my E39 (ideally 15-25) in 18”, 19” alloys aren’t too bad, offset is 30/35 IIRC, least with those I can use 15mm spacers etc... Plus 19s do suit the E39s well wink
Ah.. that's frustrating, would have thought the correct offset would be available.

And more parts have arrived for the Easter week i've got booked off

Static Camber plates to get some more front camber dialed in as the car can only achieve -1.0 in stock form but i'd rather not go with full on spherical bearing and destroy the ride quality. These will allow for -2.5-3.0 degrees camber and should mean the car won't push at the front.

Well, did the DISA valve update today and actually it was needing doing. eek

Firstly out came the valve itself, which was a little more of a fiddle given the strut brace but out it came.

Following up, the first part is to remove the pivot pin from the valve, now this part is the problem as when this decides to fall out, you'll be rebuilding your engine if you're not lucky... and mine was rather too easy to remove

After some more fiddling and dismantling, you end up with this pile of plastic.

Getting the new parts in wasn't hard and it was all back together, I used the supplied grease on both pivot points by packing them out in the plastic and applying the thread lock to the screw. the retaining clip hadn't been fitted at this point but you get the idea.

All back together and with a fresh O ring it all went back together.

The valve moves a tad freer and the car seems to be happier with it now done.

I cheated and undid the strut brace. The pin on mine took some getting out but it had recently started to rattle like anything. The actual flap had loads of play it it. You have made me feel really guilty for not bothering to properly show doing mine.

It seems the BBS alloys in 18” flavour don’t come in E39 friendly offsets at all, not just the UK sources ha... Ah well, I’ve just fitted some very nice Style 37s to it now & TBH, I’m very happy with how they look & their stance...

Re the DISA, I’ve got that on my to do list also. Got the X8R kit through the post the other day. Will get it done this week sometime

It's worth doing just to be sure there won't be issues in the future, given how loose my pin was, I was glad i did it. As for the wheel update, very good choice, they look spot on for the car. Shame the BBS issue wasn't resolvable but I wouldn't complain with those wheels.

If it wasn't for you mentioning about it, I may well have not known about the issue till it was too late, as mentioned it was going bad so don't worry about it.

Thank you, it was well worth the hassle.

Been busy the past week once i recovered from a mild flu which hit me right before a week off before Easter.

Wheel stud conversion done as I've had enough of fumbling getting wheels on.

Took out the front coilovers and fitted the Camber plates with alignment.

I've also spent some time refitting and replacing the clips holding the under tray and bumper support plastics following the bodyshop work.
Unfortunately, the radiator has shown signs after 4 years of bulging and age, so a new one has been ordered. I'll be fitting this hopefully before i go back to work or next weekend.
Also spotted a slight weep of oil, which has been traced to the oil filter housing gasket. This will have to continue for a bit till end of this month as I'll get the gasket and a new CCV system from BMW as i would guess that the CCV is clogging up and causing the system to pressurize again so need to sort that as well. The rear main seal has also been starting to weep, so will be looking to purchase the clutch kit i've had my eye on in the summer and have this fitted with a replacement main seal. The lightened flywheel should make the car a bit more lively as the same mod on my old E30 325i and 320i did make quite the difference in acceleration.

How does it feel with the extra front camber?

I’ve got a spare M54 sump gasket if you need one of those too!

Very much more 'pointy' up front, before the front end would wash out mid corner after initial turn in, it now feels planted and balanced given the rear camber is at -2.0 degrees.

Would highly recommend the turner plates as they fit stock top mounts with not a lot of work and there's no real increase in NVH.

I like the quality of the TMS parts, always good to know how modifications work in practice, thanks.

Don’t bother getting the gasket & ccv system from bmw, bloody expensive & very little different to what you can source via C3BMW (eBay or their own website). Their ccv kit is Meyle and it’s spot on

Hmm, I could've done with that info recently - I've just forked out for genuine BMW CCV system and inlet manifold gaskets, upper and lower intake boots and DISA valve...

The DISA repair I knew about but was pushed for time so just put my hand in my pocket, the CCV info I didn't and assumed if in doubt gen BMW was the best option, given the faff to fit the bits I didn't want to repeat it.

Enjoying this along with Helix' 330d thread too - keep it up both.

Thanks for all the recent comments., been busy today , 8 hours straight bar dodging showers.

Radiator was.. not healthy when i got it out eek

Old and new.

Working on getting the oil filter housing out

And out it came, some cleanup needed around the area but it did left it some.

One trick from Roadkill, have a piece of cardboard handy, punch some holes.. and keeps all the different length bolts in the right positions

Going back together, given i managed to swap out the CCV and Filter gasket housing.

All back together for the most part.

All of 8 hours of work to get this all done, after some initial trouble shooting as I'd not pushed the connectors on the throttle body and idle control valve fully home, so the car would either run like crud, or start then die.

Also got this on the way from the US

Got the clutch, flywheel and fasteners, also got the metalic pivot pin to improve pedal feel so should be all ok.... though UPS is an utter pain in the butt to deal with. 2 attempts and their online payment for customs refuses payment until the driver turns up or 30 mins prior.. and they won't tell you when they're due without creating a damned account.

Happy to have the parts i was hoping to get, and now just holding off till next month to get new gearbox mounts, guideo, bearing ready for installation.

Great thread!

I am currently running stock (new) sachs dampers on my 330 touring with Eibach pro springs & the H&R bars and disappointingly I find the weight transfer very slow and the car has too much roll. Not sure whether to buy KW V2's or go straight for the Clubsports. I want the car to be much more dynamic, but not bone crushingly uncomfortable.

I'd very very interested to hear how do you find your KW V3's with the H&R bars for road comfort, and also how they hold up to track work?
