Mercedes-Benz 300TE-24

Another small update.
After a hunt around for better prices I've now purchased a set of front\rear Sachs shock's and spring's which arrived today.
These are pictured here along with the front links, front arm's and rear links.
I may get new sphere's to go with the rest while I'm at It along with any other suspension part's I've forgotten at the moment.
Looking forward to getting started now and am glad I've not done anything hasty like selling It without even having some good use from It.

scorchi0 is right about the wheels. There was a dealer-fit 16" 8 hole wheel available for the 124 during the later years, size 16 x 7J ET46.
The 16 x 8J 15 hole and 8 hole wheels often removed from 129s really only belong on the 500 E (which has r129 suspension and brakes and extended bodywork).
This smoke silver estate car is a lovely thing. Did you get the vandalism sorted? These smart dent repair men can do amazing things if the paint is not broken.
A good place for Lemforder, Sachs/Boge and Behr Hella parts is skscarparts.co.uk. Amazingly low prices and next day delivery. Use the parts manufacturers' web catalogues to identify the correct part number and search for that rather than using SKS's search-by-car-model facility which is not so comprehensive.

I'm happy to report that I was the lucky bidder on this one.
I'm not sure I need another w124 in my life (we have a bornite 300 non turbo diesel) but I couldn't resist the combination of 24v estate with brown leather!!
Looking forward to seeing in the flesh it soon!
It looks like there's a bit of minor bodywork needed - and I'm sure there was a bodywork guy recommended on PH somewhere - anybody got any recommendations?

Still utterly fabulous.
This. Lovely, lovely car.Still miss the Chief's K-plate TE 24 - Bornite with grey leather / walnut and just about everything on it (company car!). It was quick, classy and commodious. Epic and would love one (or pretty much any 6 plus cylinder W124 if honest).
ETA: Congratulations rejn!
First refusal if you decide to sell please

Slow progress from me on this car, I'm afraid. I started a new job in March and sadly that's keeping me busy.
However, I've had the car delivered to the bodywork man (as suggested by harrykul and 0a).
He's stripped the car down and found it's mostly good - 3 of the 4 jacking points are fine; one is not; both front wings need replacing too. Also a few minor bits of rot elsewhere. And so the project starts...
