A redonkulous amount - $75,000 IIRC

Although this is probably at the prototyping stage and will decline once it scales

Hi PPBB

Have you seen this firm http://vonnen.com/ ?

They retro fit KERS to 911s. Replaces traditional flywheel with a slimline electric motor that houses the flywheel

Did you make progress with your KERS idea??
Yes I've seen this, it's a good solution and the integration of motor to flywheel is a well developed OEM approach to it.

However I am aiming to provide an electronic infinitely variable centre diff with the front wheels being entirely electrically driven and the rears from the ICE ala GT3R-Hybrid which this setup doesn't allow.

Dev is going fairly well as and when time is available, I have a full front diff and motor setup on a test rig at the moment biggrin

Ooooh, now that IS interesting!

Far far far too expensive. But if it comes down in price very substantially then I could be interested. Thanks for the link!

Given that he says things to do in 2020, and it isn't yet the end of January, it's unlikely!

Nice to see the update and plans for the car though, one day I will have 1 of these, hopefully before the prices rise too much! PPBB can you give a summary of the preventative maintenance/lifing of components that you've referred to a number of times.
Thanks
Hugh

Judging by this thread, it's:

  1. Replace everything.
  2. Drive lots.
  3. Replace more things.

What's the amount of weight are you looking to shed, and will the dampers need to be adjusted due to this? Thanks.

Do you know if your wheels are finished in Titanium Tech?

If so, any idea what the paint code is? I've got the same alloys and want to patch up a few scuffs...

Looking forward to the new updates when they arrive. Really interested to see which tyre you pick to replace the yoko’s.

If the 295 30 is not available then maybe a 285 30?

Did you ever manage to progress with the development of the brake discs i.e. adopting the spline type arrangement rather than the bobbin type? Or was it more cost effective for your time to simply replace with off the shelf Brembos (knowing that you must be real busy with KERS and other daytime job related tasks)?

Well, several hours ago I clicked on this, interesting enough to go to the first post. The spec drew me in and here I am.

Nice car, very subtly and cleverly modified.
