It is only a matter of time before these become majorly collectable. It is the spiritual successor to the Sierra Cosworth in my view.
+1With unmodified cars in the minority - surely values will go up!
I drove one a couple of months back. I liked it, but could never see myself owning one. That said, if someone threw a 22b my way, I wouldn't object :P
If you're after a remap I recommend Thwaites Developments Racing in Warwick, he did my blob STI a couple of months ago and it's been faultless. Really smooth power delivery, pulls all the way through the rev range, I can't fault the service either.
Lovely looking example by the way, a mint classic is becoming a very very rare beast.

The only thing I really don't like about mine is the reaction it prompts in some other drivers. That "must race, must pass, must get out in front" attitude. I find white vans to be the worst! Right up your chuff in a 30. You know they're thinking "come on mate, thought you had a fast car, I'm keeping up with you in my van"!
Here's my beaut. A few subtle tweaks. WRX wheels, de-oranged, rusty rear arch. Prodrive back box also to enhance that burble!

Agreed, very rare in this condition. Not even a remap please!
I'll go against the grain and say yes to the remap. The UK cars really benefit from it and it reduces the gap in performance to the JDM ones.A map from a well regarded tuner (complete with receipt) and an upgraded fuel pump won't harm its value.
Exactly, it wont hurt the value but will make the car better to drive and give a noticeable boost in power. Also it will get the AFR into a better and safer place giving less risk of a meltdown at some point.
Just keep to the prodrive exhaust and standard looks and it will stay looking and sounding tasteful whilst being quicker, more responsive and safer on the engine.

Thank you everyone for the positive comments.
Regarding a potential remap sometime in the next few months, I do plan to go ahead because I honestly believe it will not affect the value. A custom remap from a reputable well-known company/person with invoice will only enhance the drivability of the car without having to add any supporting mods (other than an updated fuel pump- that's all) or by changing the appearance of the car.

Nice to see an original/preserved one. Not common I see a turbo Impreza that doesn't immediately bring the word "tt" to mind.
I did own a 2006 WRX for a while, but I thought it was fking awful and really don't understand the appeal!
A 2006 car +is the Hawkeyes model- regarded as not very good as it uses the 2.5litre engine instead of the 2.0. Plus being only a WRX and not an STI, it lacks power coupled with its weight. Yours wasn't a good first choice You need to try a classic or a newage STI.I did own a 2006 WRX for a while, but I thought it was fking awful and really don't understand the appeal!

That's very nice looking. I haven't noticed much attention with mine but that could be because it's silver(?). I think you'd only notice me if you can appreciate cars. Don't forget your red calipers, STI fog covers and personalised plate Here's my beaut. A few subtle tweaks. WRX wheels, de-oranged, rusty rear arch. Prodrive back box also to enhance that burble!

A 2006 WRX in standard form is a pretty dull drive so I can understand. I drove one for a month and whilst very competent, I found it pretty underwhelming and it felt in no way special.I did own a 2006 WRX for a while, but I thought it was fking awful and really don't understand the appeal!
My RB5 (which I still own) was also the same way for me with the standard 255bhp. I've always felt the classics start to become really great fun over 330bhp as it changes the nature of the cars very significantly and the classics are far lighter than the later models.
I personally adopt the view that if people think/say bad things about me for owning an Impreza then it says more about them and their views of the world than anything to do with me and I don't give them a second of my time.
