As the title states, what do you drive and do you get any attention?

I drive an EVO 6 and constantly get looks, thumbs up & probably a few "w*nker" mutters added to the mix!

In the last 24 hours - 5 miles of driving I have had thumbs up, stares (good & maybe bad?) compliments from the lad delivering my takeaway and a brand new Impreza STi owner racing up behind me and then chatting to me at the lights!

What about you guys?

When I'm in the Monaro, I only ever get positive comments and attention from other enthusiasts. Most non car people don't notice it or dislike the slightly noisy exhaust when it's on.

Audi S6 V10 estate - literally zero attention. I've never seen anyone even take a second glance, never had anyone try race me or talk to me about my car.
I thought about debadging it but what's the point!

My last nicer car was my VX220 which got quite a bit of attention, my more recent 197 daily got quite a few looks but i think that was mostly down to the colour as it was racing blue, had a triumph street triple r for nearly two years now and i've been shocked at the attention this gets, never really thought bikes would get so much attention as what mine seems to.

The Passat, I am invisible. I mean this because often people simply pull out in front me at junctions and roundabouts as if I am not there.

The TVR, it is sadly not as subtle as I would like but I tend to ignore people staring..

In the Fiesta - no comments and I wouldn't expect any as it's a nondescript stbox.

In the A8 - two comments from people I know, both of the 'nice car' type. Strangers don't give a damn.

In the Riley (a '63 1.5) - often photographed, even at filling stations. Multiple comments of 'my father/uncle/grandfather had one of those' or 'I learnt to drive in one like that' - can be nuisance when I'm in a hurry but I don't like being rude to people.

'98 BMW E36 328 Touring.

Mostly looks of sympathy (I get let out of junctions after all) that I can't afford a new/decent car.

15 year old red BMW e39 so none apart from BMW-nerds because it's Imola red. biggrin

My E38 750 in all it's dark grey glory looked expensive so it attracted some un-wanted attention and very strange behavior from a few fellow motorists.. Been given the finger a few times and I drive like a fast grandma, not being agressive and certainly not holding people up in any way. Some folk are just strange I reckon.

Most cars in my back catalogue are completely ignored: Golf, Octavia vrs, Clio 182, Volvo, converted van, Mx5 Mk1 and Mk2, Subaru Forrester.

I think 'quicker' models of normal cars such as the vrs/182 just don't appear on people's radar unless they are a car nerd.

The two cars that have got attention are a Defender, which really suprised me. I bought it at rock bottom price and it had been well used: lots of dents, scratches etc and lots of people complemented it. I'm in Shropshire so they are not exactly a rarity. No other car has had people try to buy if off me when it wasn't for sale but it happened to the defender 3 times in the 12 month I owned it- once at a petrol station and two notes under the wiper.

The other, as above, is a VX220. People stare all the time, which I suspect is them just trying to work out what it is. I had one 9 years ago and have just bought another, and I had forgotten the level of attention and comments (all good thus far but I await the spitting!)

My Hyundai is a fanny magnet. I often get teenage boys giving me the thumbs up and teenage girls waving. Porsche drivers seem to want to race and Ferrari owners make a point of not looking.
The other one gets no attention what's so ever.

RS3. Not much attention when parked up as to 99% of people it looks just like a bog standard A3. Fair bit when on the move though as it is reasonably loud for a bog standard A3.

My E Class is pleasantly invisible so day to day that suits me. The CLS63 gets the right kind of attention and just looks like a silver saloon car to most people.

My other half's SL is a different story though, have noticed people stare at it and oddly had some strange driving behaviour from people around it. I'm sure people look at it and think it's a bit flash (roof up as well) but had a TT driver insist on overtaking then cutting in front just yesterday and an old Boxster driver insist on passing it as fast as possible when we weren't driving slowly anyway.

As with any car that's not your typical car, some attention is good some is bad.

I can't say I've noticed receiving any attention from driving either the Aston or the RRS.

Impreza used to get thumbs up/waves from other Subaru drivers. For some reason BMW owners aren't quite so jovial.

The V40 gets more attention with Emma driving it than with me but that might be because she's pretty, Personally i like driving a car that is anonymous yet is capable of a surprise turn of speed

My daily car is a Volvo V60 so as you can imagine, I get a few appreciative looks and nice waves from fellow V60 drivers.

I was getting out of it the other day when a pretty blonde lady smiled and said "I do like your car"

The nice thing about the V60 is that it's a car people don't really aspire to but respect. It's not show off but clearly it's an intelligent choice.

I'm just glad my choice of car makes others happier and altogether calmer.

Current model Golf GTI - goes almost completely unnoticed which is exactly why I bought it. On the rare occasion I do get some attention it's positive.

Quite a lot of stares and comments at Petrol stations in the M5, and the odd craned neck in traffic. In the Passat or Golf absolutely nada. Surprisingly.

More attention than I ever thought or wanted.

But a bonus is I always get let out of junctions / into other lanes.

When I am out in my Caterham I always get people having a good look , at traffic lights it always seems people expect you to tear off at silly speeds, which I don't of course , not often anyway ! In my Renaultsport Megane other Renaultsport owners will give a thumbs up or wave which is cool be me , mutual appreciation of good drivers cars I suppose , to everyone else it's just a megane . In the Porsche Cayenne I may as well be invisible , clearly not a cool car .
