No problem, it certainly is. Have to say the two Jaguar races provided some of the best racing of the weekend.

Sorry haven't dropped in for a while- have I missed anything or is it just as these brilliant cats do?....fast in......brake, brake, brake.........body mass changes with inertia...... bit of arm twiddle.........supercharged whine..........lots of grunt.........fast out.......business as usual Gents" cool

Any further worthwhile mods for road cars? appreciate you want to keep your competitive advantage.

I've slightly cheated in the context of most peoples thoughts on this, in as much as I've transferred the outer panels of a '40 onto an XJR 300 thus retaining the powertrain benefits and the stiffer bodyshell.

I think as time is progressing and the mystique of ECU's is being overcome by the likes of Emerald aftermarket ECU's and people like Rich82 who have the practical and technical skills then we'll see more use of the XJR engine, having said that the value of the XJR300 is slowly rising as more are awakening to what a fantastic car they are.

Currently the project has stalled due to life getting in the way and the arrival of a rather nice Silver Shadow but my enthusiasm is undimmed and I'll be back onto it later this year with the intention that it becomes my daily driver.

Keen to see the mods etc you're making to the racer XJR500, its looking really good. What did you make of these comments on engine and suspension tuning?

Thought I'd posted the link for the '40 build before, but here it is again if you're interested

Thank you. It'll be great when I can finish it, it's stalled at the moment because I'm putting the cash into my business so the Volvo is the daily; I'll keep you posted.

Slightly different note- it's staggering what good value the '40 is. I'm not being myopic but when you look at the prices being achieved for mundane 70's cr*p it beggars belief.

Thnx again.

Silverstone - Misfire halfway through and brake bias issues at the beginning. Last 8 minutes are the best!

Looks like fun - how come you have such a straight line speed deficit over the older cars - is it purely a case of less power? Or was it the misfire?

That blue (XJC?) is having fun, some interesting lines there.

my thoughts exactly- its almost like he was trying to take exactly the wrong line at all times biggrin

he must have a chunk more power than you though......

Yes he has loads of grunt, it was actually quite funny watching the video back. Whatever line I was on, he was on the complete opposite. When I got re-lapped by the back markers, that was frustrating!

I had the misfire after the first two laps, at which point it just got worse and worse

The old tank and fuel system is now in the bin, a complete new system is being fitted with swirl pots, larger twin pumps and 40L tank

I was at Castle Combe this weekend and spotted you out on track again, I did walk round the paddock on Sunday and was coming to say hello but they moved your race forward so I didn't get a chance before you went out! Hope it wasn't anything too serious that stopped you in race two?

Awesome Matt! Come say hello next time

Yes race 1 plagued by a misfire and then in race 2 the fuel rail snapped! How the car didn't burn down I do not know, very fortunate

Next stop Donnington, really hoping for a trouble free weekend

Hi Adam,

With your custom exhaust manifold, was it just made on the car to suit your race exhaust? I need to replace the cracked manifolds on my road XJR 6, so I just looking at the alternatives. I'm not sure yours is the alternative, but it doesn't hurt to ask about it...

HI Ben

It was made for this car and for maximum power, but I can't see any implications on a road car, but I wonder if it would foul on the aircon pipes

Swallows Jaguar Bristol can produce these
