15mpg,it seems i'm not trying hard enough as mentioned. The salesman used half a tank delivering the car, around 180 miles at 70mph he said,so if you can control your urges it is possible to have decent range, but that's not going to happen i guess...
I'm ashamed to admit i've seen 23mpg on long journeys getmecoat

I've got a grey wagon myself. It's a great family car for me but I think it's getting ridiculous how fast I drive sometimes. I've put a lid on it a bit now but you just can't help it. With the windows down it sounds amazing. Cold starts are like a bomb has exploded. It's a shame the image is ruined by people who think these cars belong in the city driving like idiots. These cars are wasted in the city.

You're right it is very hard to resist that lovely sound,on the way out of the city yesterday there are two tunnels with two lanes, into lane two,it's clear drop window and boooom!,i was giggling to myself like a child but it is such good fun with no harm done, just have to work on that mpg now.

Congrats on the car, It is a beast, mine has the secondary cat/res delete with a remap. I do my driving mostly around London, but filling up every 2 days gets quite boring.

Every time I look at these I start off looking at the standard car, then end up hankering after a PPP model (+30bhp), and then get fixated on finding an LSD equipped 507 (+50bhp). I bet the standard car is awesome in its own right. irked

I saw 29.7mpg once on a 270 mile motorway drive. Averaged 18mpg over the 2 years I had it.

I'm of the opposite opinion. Average car but great sound. It's all about the engine for me. The seats are nice too.

5mpg- that is some going there.

Mackie - 30mpg real self discipline in action.

Same here, I prefer a singing high revving engine such as a V8 M3, but now that I've somehow ended up with a C63 I'm slowly starting to like the low down angry growl of the exhaust. Everyone else comments on how great it sounds though.

What is the gearbox like in these? My mrs. has a W164 M class with the 7G-tronic and it's horrendous, really sluggish and sometimes reluctant to change, even with the paddles. I gather they're just like that, although I guess they may be configured and tuned differently on the big V8 models.

Really want one, sadly it's owned by one too many gangsters. Will consider a touring in the future.
Sump, just get a stealthy version like mine, and dress smartly wearing no gold chains haha,it works for me.
I don't mean this in a derogatory fashion at all, but if it weren't for the fairly subtle badges on the front wings and bootlid, or the quad tail pipes you won't pick this out from a sea of C220d AMG bodykit & wheels models. I don't think it's very "Gangster" at all in this colour. smile

It's not like a dsg/dct etc but it's pretty good, especially on the facelift. In manual mode mine will do what I tell it to do. In sports mode it's very good and always seems to be in the right gear when pushing on. Comfort is almost seamless. It's a big step up from my old Range Rover sport box.

The only thing putting me off this car as family transport is the low-rent interior. Owners - how OK is it to live with, really?

it's why I'm looking more seriously at the E63.

I came from a RRS so it doesn't bother me. Seats are great. Current e63 with the 5.5 is nice.

I find it fine, the seats are very comfortable, the dash simple and uncluttered, for me it's more about the n/a engine.

Jamieduff - I agree, that's why i chose it.

Similar for me, then i look at the price of replacing the disks and pads on the ppp model. eek
