This time it was a trip out to one of the local country parks to get some better photos again with my Nikon DSLR.

The full size plate on the front was comically large, and would get in the way of cooling too.

So I managed to find a pretty cheap private plate, that's just Three Numbers and Three letters.

Looks much better with the smaller plate, and the Uber reference is quite cool too!

Almost forgot, had our first trip out to Curborough sprint track in Lichfield, just before I changed the plates over, this was mid March timeframe.

Didn't get many photos out on track, but it was a good shakedown test.

So with 1000 miles covered, it was time for an oil and filter change, and with the aid of my new vacuum pump run off my compressor, it's was a job completed in just 10 minuites!

Shame it took me and extra 30 minutes juts to get the old oil filter off though!

Sorry some of the photos are coming out 90 degrees out!

They are fine when viewed locally on my iPad.

Time is flying by now, and the 8th of may meant it was time for a Pistonheads Sunday service at Santa Pod raceway for a Run What Ya Brung session on the drag strip.

Thanks to my friend Jay Rayman for these great stylish photos at " The Pod "

The track events are coming thick and fast now, and the next outing to Curborough was the next day on the 9th May.

Unfortunately due to some cold tyres, and a Brush with a thorn bush, the passenger side door window got a very unsightly scratch.

So it was time for another upgrade, this time to some shiny new Carbon Vinyl doors, and the scratched one can be sold on the Facebook page.

Some more pictures of those nice carbon Vinyl doors, including the black rounded nuts supplied as part of the kit.

With the next Lotus Seven club meeting looming, which is the Tafia Fish and Chip run to Aberdovey, it was time to get some new Avon ZZS tyres fitted just in case we encounter any rain, which is bound to happen in Wales.

So over to BMTR in Birmingham for a new set of ZZRs on my spare Apollo rims.

So whilst changing the wheels and tyres to the next set for the Wales trip, I decided it was time to clean the yellow front brake calipers as they do seem to get black with brake dust very quickly indeed.

Just before the trip to Aberdovey for the Fish and Trip run, I acquired my new drone - A DJI Mavic Pro, so the next set of photos come courtesy of my new favourite toy!

I also acquired my first 360 degree camera, a Nikon Keymission 360, so some photos to follow, sadly videos don't post well here, so if anyone is interested the videos are on my YouTube channel.

Yep Andy's Xbow was a seriously fast car, over 350bhp, so something quick needed just to keep up with it!

Fantastic amount of Carbon too, Even more Carbon than Scarlet, in fact the whole car is basically Carbon!

Next little job was to protect the Lower wishbones, as in the past, and despite being the aero type, so a smaller profile, seem to get lots of stone chips in the powder coat.

So a very simple and cheap addition of black electricians tape along the leading edge.

Very easy to apply and you really don't know it's there!

The next outing was the Lotus Seven club tafia fish and chip run, a great annual event.

With my newly acquired Avon ZZS tyres, I was confident I would be fine if we got caught out in the normal Welsh weather. Little was I to know what would happen later.

The forecast was for light showers, as I set of from my base in the midlands to Chepstow for the start and breakfast.

Had a very nice cross country run down, with only one small shower in the Ross on wye area.

As before I didn't even bother with the full roof for the trip, just took my half hood.

Upon arrival, met up with some people and the rain started proplerly , so put the half hood on whilst we went in to enjoy some fine bacon rolls and tea for breakfast.

The photos are too large so are here in a link.

If you google 3m helitape for the wishbones, its the stuff they use on copter blades. Its nice and thick and using a bit of heat , moulds round the wishbones and protects them a lot better from stonechips etc. Lovely car and nice to see the miles being put on it too.
