Just bought a 63 plate, 15k mile, F10 BMW M5 and loving it so far! Changed from co. Car (hybrids of late) to buying our own so went straight out and bought an M5...as you do!

I knew it would be fast but bloody hell, its fast! I love the dual nature of the car - start off in efficient/comfort settings and waft/cruise about but at the flick of a switch (or press of an 'm' button to be more accurate) it turns into snarling, beast of a thing!

Picked it up a week ago, stuck some new rubber on it (factored into the deal) and refreshed the air con and all good so far.

A clean (first time using snow foam - great stuff!) and a polish and it came up like new almost!

Been trying to figure out the extras it has without knowing the base spec - so far I've Ben able to figure...

20" wheels
Fancy parking cameras
Drop down rear seats
Service pack

Don't know if there's a way to find out from BMW? Not that bothered I guess, just curious.

All good so far - be good the hear from other owners

Take care - PeteA

Stick the last 7 digits of your vin into BMW archive and it'll come up with the full spec.

Lovely car btw

Wow not a bad upgrade from a hybrid, congrats! Must feel bloody savage. Not that it's high on your priority list but can these really hit 28-30 mpg combined?

Ha - it's savage full stop! It's not got anywhere near 30mpg so far but I'm still in 'floor it...waahhhhhh' mode at the moment. I've heard mid 20 figures are a possibility...we'll see on my regular drives from Newcastle to York/Leeds/Manchester.

Thanks for the other comments

I'll look into the BMW archive - sounds interesting...anyone got a link? Otherwise I'll have a google later

Here you go: http://bimmer.work/

Congrats on the M5, got one myself and absolutely love it! And, if you ever hit 30 MPG make sure you call me and tell me how - best I've ever managed was 27 and that was driving like Miss Daisy

That BimMer.Work website is good - thanks for the link - looks like the original owner spent a few quid!

Lovely car that OP. I've been in one of the same shape and it really did shift. Very understated too, enjoy. smile

Some of those options would have been standard on a UK car though.

I suspected as much when I read the list but was still quite impressed...especially as I'm not even sure what some of them are!

Glad it came in useful! As a previous poster said, much of that is standard.

Any you don't understand, Google the code or just ask. Or, just get out there and drive the wheels off it! laugh

Yeh, cheers - makes interesting reading...well, for me anyway! I'll look up the ones I don't know!

The items listed above are the 'options' as the 'standard equipment' was listed separately but i guess the UK cars were specced up?

Love it Pete, and yes it does properly shift!

Strange that it's got the 'smokers pack' when it doesn't look like anybody's ever been near it with a cigarette never mind actually smoked in it.

Hi Paul

Ha, it certainly does have some grunt - its even more impressive on a good surface where it actually grips a bit more! Yeh the 'smokers pack' does seem odd given theres absolutely no sign of smoking having taken place in the car...wonder if the individual items were packaged together?

Anyway, going on my first distance run tomorrow down to our Leeds office...I'm planning to cruise to see what I can eek out of it mpg wise but I suspect the devil on my shoulder may have other plans...

Good luck with your 'hunt'!

I like these a lot.

Higher mileage ones were creeping under £30k when I last looked. Lots of car for not much money.
