Cool, I used to love the Raider blue (which from memory was a darker blue than yours). Your car looks superb though smile

Slightly off topic but Zed - are you Zed from old Renault Sports Club / Cliosport days?

Stunning car op.

Bought the car in September 2011. Went to look out of curiosity but when I realized that I had test driven this car off a local dealers forecourt back in 1990 I knew I had to buy it!

Paid 1450 pounds for the car which was original and straight bar a poor respray in the original electric blue colour . Looks very cheap now but at the time I thought it was enough money.

Didn't do much to the car for a few years just kept it stored away.

As the values started to rise I slowly sorted the mechanical issues, new dampers, wheel bearings, exhaust etc.

More recently I have had the paint corrected, new plastic sills fitted and painted, wheels refurbished and seat bolster repaired.

Just the new decals to be fitted and she is finished ready for the summer!

Car has done 53k miles with good history.

Indeed I am, still on CS although not had a Renault for years. Who are you?

My mates got a red GTT, such a giggly to drive. Values seem to be on the up defo, need more photos of your blue one!

More info & pics required. Love these!!

Dad had a brand new red phase 1 back in the day, used to scare the life out of me smile

Also had a Raider for a short while but it never felt as manic as the older one confused

Nice! As above I'm a 205 man but my stepdad had a grey one when I was four and I've liked them ever since.

Very nice, best colour, I'd have one in a heartbeat, and I don't say that about much that's French!

How does it feel driving one now? I had one mid 90's and it felt fragile but flipping fast (I had some sort of over boost valve or something fitted if I remember correctly). It absolutely flew but perceptions change, think I'd be scared to drive one now in case it ruined my fond memories from the time!

Looks so cool though!

Went out for a spin in a mate of a mates car way back in circa 1999. Had the boost turned up and Damn did that thing light up the wheels. But once they took hold it really did fly.

Honestly compared to a new car it does feel very fragile, the build quality of these cars was never the best.

My car runs standard boost so performance wise it is nippy by modern standards.

If you try to compare it to a modern hot hatch you will be disappointed from a performance, grip and handling perspective but that is the case with most 30 year old cars.

But as an overall nostalgic driving experience it is absolutely fantastic!!

Great car.

My cousins husband had one of these as a company car in the 90s.

Let me drive it a few times.

I had a Mini 1000 at the time and this felt bloody quick.

His was identical to yours.

Wow that takes me back to my youth, having nearly made my poor old dad sick in one, from accelerating and braking too much around the country lanes near Ipswich. The company i worked for had a policy of offering "used" company cars to staff at pretty attractive prices. Typically they were motorway munchers but for some reason a guy left suddenly who had a 5 Turbo company car (in grey), and they offered it up when only about 18mths old. Interested buyers could borrow the cars for a night (100 miles max from memory) so I said i was interested and off i went. Know idea what the insurance would have cost as was 18 at the time, so no intention of buying it !
Great fun, though can't recall the last time i saw one on the road. Top marks to the owner for snapping it up, and restoring to standard. Great colour too, nicer than the grey.
