Great old buses, I had one for many years. A taxi hit it in summer and wrote it off, just shy of 200k miles! frown

Looks like you are giving it the tlc it deserves, these things will last a long time if maintained correctly, they don't rust and mine still had its original exhaust - they really are built to last!

Enjoy it, I miss mine but I don't have a requirement for such a car in the fleet currently.

Well, after doing the condenser and bits and pieces. The air con was regassed and it worked perfectly. Will need to give it a few days of use to see if it leaks etc.

But moving the car around to get it washed etc, the starter motor stuck. Quick bang with a hammer got it going again but couldn't be dealing with that.

£145 for a new unit later and the car starts up immediately along with the new battery.

Will update with a few photos in the next day or so, also cleared out part of the egr system, my god it was filthy!

The car is going to my Mum today but I will be carrying out a bit more work on it in the near future. Lower arms and tailgate rods and some droplinks too!

Great car OP. We had an S60 2.0T for a while. It had a couple of niggles (handbrake adjustment and alarm siren) but was a very dependable car while we had it. Just ate the miles up. We took our's to the Dordogne from Newcastle. We were meant to have an overnight on the way down, but the journey had been so easy, we just kept going until we arrived. Not many of my other cars have encouraged that. Stereo sounded superb too.

Only things I disliked were the turning circle which is the worst I've ever experienced in a car and was actually a pain in our street and ultimately the reason we sold it. I also should have gone for an auto. It's just not a car that suits a manual box. An auto would have been much more in keeping with the laid back comfortable drive.

I was looking for another one recently and was going to opt for a D5 Estate but nothing ever popped up locally that warranted a look. Bit of a shame, I'd very happily have another.

The car is still ticking along.

Had 2 more tyres put on the car, DIM repaired, wing mirror replaced.

Now looking at some suspension parts & a service in the new year. Could do with a wheel refurbishment also.

Great cars these. I once had a T5, it was a bit of a ‘Jeckle and Hyde’. When driven sensibly it was very smooth, quiet and comfortable and when you put your foot down it would turn into a bit of a lunatic. And the factory stereo was amazing.

This car is still going pretty strong in my Mum's use, but she has a new car coming on March 1st so not sure what to do with this.

It may be for sale, but I don't really want to sell! The 5 pot auto is lovely.
