Umm, she'd kill me.

I guess "PX Landy?" is not going to be the right question to ask.

Always had a soft spot for the UMM. I think it's because the origami-based "design" makes a Land Rover look like an over-styled soft roader. smile

It gets worse. I broached the subject with swmbo, and she didn't say no.

These things are amazing! In 1991 I tried to set up a dealership but in the end I couldn't raise the money, they were just too unknown. I remember just how good they were off road, flattened rough ground like a steamroller. Down here in SW France there are still plenty around, a testament to the welded steel construction and the unstressed Peugeot mechanicals. Enjoy!

I have owned this heap for some months and still haven't had the dodgy brakes fixed, but now it is past MoT time, so I had better get the blooming things done. For the moment, the off roader can stay off road.

You might think that this was a good time of year for UMMing, but I have been so useless and disorganised that I still haven't got the brakes done or had the thing in for an MoT, so the UMM is still ingloriously SORNed. I hope I will wake it up before the winter is past.

Sounds familiar. The Landy is outside with the dash out, because the driver's side washer jet was lacklustre, and the ball pinged out as I adjusted it...

It's a solid harbinger of a harsh winter.

I feels yer pain. Things that go ping out of jalopies are always imposssible to (a) find, and (b) put back in.

Unlike every Landy I have owned, the UMM even has a good heater (it sits visibly on top of the lump of engine that protrudes into the cabin), and the opportunity to use three upside down window wipers is much fun, but still the Lusitanoshed sits on its arse.

Brakes fixed, new MoT issued.
