Bought myself a Cube Editor for riding to work - 11 speed alfine and gates carbon drive. Loving it so far, but the huge bruise on my right leg suggests I need to buy pedals and shoes; maybe some DMR platform pedals and some non-spd shoes to match.

Finally upgraded my cheap shoes and spd pedals to some proper road shoes and Look Keo pedals.

What do you think of the Alfine? I have an 8spd on one bike and I'm not convinced the weight penalty is worth it over a regular derailleur.

New bike! Absolutely loving it, I also bought DMR V8 pedals for it, got rid of all the reflectors, I've bought some very small but powerful cateye lights, Fox flux helmet which is great, fox gloves and some other bits n bobs!

Just bought a new Charge Spoon saddle for 18 quid online. I hope I like it, as I hate every other saddle I ride on at the moment and have almost given up trying to find something suitable.

If you don't like the Charge then there is little hope...It's super popular as it's super comfy yet very cheap.

Got a new MTB Lid - Giro Feature in an extremely bright green, which I love. New gloves to replace the pair I left in Canada and a bunch of cleaning stuff because I'm fed up of cleaning 3 chains - Road, MTB & commuter - without degreaser and a good brush.

Got a fantastic deal, so treated my Colnago to these:

Can't wait to take them for a spin tomorrow. They should be a nice upgrade to the 4 year old Easton EA90RT's currently on the bike.

TBH the real weight penalty is me, hence the cycling to work! I like the ease of having the hub - getting rid of the chain is a real benefit to me as I can't be bothered indexing gears, lubing the chain etc. I just want to get up, ride to work, ride home and not have to do much more than put air in the tyres.
