Long term average including town driving and a few sprints is 25mpg. Can get easily 30 on most trips including normal and spirited driving. If I drive very carefully I can do 35.

This is fantastic. While I understand why people use TDI badging et al on these, I would still think a Superb 280 beating any number of high performance sports cars is very impressive. I see nothing wrong with a 600HP family car.
