Simply wonderful ! By any chance, can you give a rough idea what it costs to insure ?
Surprisingly only 30% or so more than before but this can vary depending on the individual, area of residence etc.

It helps that the Superb 280 insurance group for my L&K is only 28 (27 for the SE L executive and 29 for the Sportline)
compared to 34 for the Golf R and 36 for the S3 and Cupra R.

Only just discovered this thread. The project is absolute genius and the Superb looks, well superb - almost as if Skoda had built its own M5 competitor. Nice work. thumbup

I worked on a Superb last week - opened the boot looking for a broken wire and wondered why they'd cheaped-out on a parcel-shelf instead of a proper rear shelf.

Then I realised it's both a saloon (boot opens) or hatch (whole back with glass opens) - really quite neatly done (tho MANY wires were broken - obv)

Only really useful to taxi drivers I guess - but that's 99% of what Superbs are used for so it's great to see one being taken to another level entirely (tho I suspect he's feeding money into it and it's just being burned - but hey, it'll be brilliant for the next owner smile )

That is the previous version, unfortunately the current one is a simple hatchback or an estate, the dual boot is not available any more.

its obvious you have no idea how good the standard cars are now, I cannot think of anything that offers the performance/useability of this modified car unless you want to spend a hell of a lot more and in my opinion you would need an additional £20-40k to get it all.
Great result OP!

The owner did say something about that as he's in the market for a new one - his has done 160K in 3-4 years and the car was is REALLY good shape for that level of use (it had a private owner for the first year)

He was bemoaning the lack of decent used ones at reasonable prices tho - he reckoned their high-demand for taxiing was driving prices up which is kinda ironic.

I guess the Skoda stigma has really gone now?

How is it obvious since I made NO comment on how good or bad they were? smile

They are HUGELY popular as taxis (for obvious reasons) and I liked the trick tailgate thing

As for money - did I miss his detailed breakdown of costs? smilesmilesmile

Before this one I also had the previous model (albeit in an estate, combi, guise). Loved it as well and with a remap it was a rather nippy car too.

I was at Vmax with you, remember you disappearing off into the distance on the run down to the start line and thinking "there is no way that Skoda is standard"

Little did I know the scale of the mods!

I was in the battered old Boxster S. Was almost slowest, with a paltry 149.

I bought it from Skoda. In some countries it is the steering wheel for the Sportline 280

Just watched one of the videos you posted, what's the lag between gear selection (paddle select and change) seems like a half a second of so?

Not sure, there is not much lag really.
Did you notice the lag by listening to the sound, watching the gear number or watching the rpm?

Between you hitting the paddle and the note change, it could just be an audio sync thing on youtube.
I've never experienced a VAG group DSG box in person so I was curious.
I have similar although by different name on my GTR R35 and that's instantaneous hence the question.

Awesome build though and congrats on a monster.

Quite possibly an audio sync issue. Changes are quite fast.
R35 most likely even faster but I am upgrading my DSG map soon so I may catch up wink

These Superbs look bloody brilliant, must be great seeing the looks on some people's faces when you leave them! Look forward to some more updates.
