Thanks for the feature Pistonheads! https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-britishcars/lo...

Have another photo:

I've booked the car in with Hangar111 to have an LSD fitted in a couple of weeks time, thought it would be useful for winter slippery conditions...

Lovely car, lovely photos.

Well thought out mods, must be very happy.

Those tyres - how on earth are they road legal? Wouldn't fancy them in this weather.

Made me smile when I realised the additional power was near that of the total power of a mark 1 Elise.

Looks like a whole lot of fun.

Great car, are you planning any aero mods, like the sport 380 wing and cannards.

I'm having a big debate on this, but my first priority is maximising mechanical grip and being happy with the setup. Once I've done this I'll then consider my options.

For me the Sport 380 wing is too small and doesn't look great. If I'm going to have a big wing I would prefer it to be a race car style wing, more similar to what the new Cup 430 has. To balance it out I'd put a cup front splitter on the front. I must confess that I quite like turning up to trackdays and the car looks pretty standard (least subtle sleeper ever?).

In the long term I intend to extensively modify the car so it's perfect and a keeper, the real debate for me is the order in which I do things due to how expensive it all is. I decided LSD should be the next modification, the one after will likely be a gearbox cooler (I know I should do this at the same time, but funds don't allow yet).
gets scary ;-) makes one think the 430 CUP is ok at £100k lol

Can’t imagine how rapid that must be now. I run a Chrome Orange V6 and that scares me regularly!

Well this has to be a front runner for the most engaging readers car of 2017!
Excellent thing, very well nuanced, and a great thread to follow to boot.
My only question concerning the outfit in Germany is why they would consider such a power upgrade without upgrading the clutch, unless you asked them not to? Obviously I don’t know what the limits of the standard item are, but I would think that having it done at the time (he says, with 20-20 hindsight’s!) might have saved money and time. And the ignominy of travelling on an autobahn recovery truck..
Please don’t take offence at the above, I was just wondering about the rationale.
But, as I say, great, great car and thread; bravo!,

I’m in for significantly less money than a 430 Cup wink

Komo-tec said that it should be okay. With hindsight it makes much more sense to upgrade and the car has been perfect since. Annoying as it cost me a load of money to sort and ruined a nice road trip with my (very patient) girlfriend!

I surmised as much as your approach to the whole thing has been top notch. Actually surprising in a different way that Komo-tec didn’t try to empty your wallet for a clutch initially, perhaps refreshingly so.

As an aside, the last image you posted (near The Gherkin?); what did you use to take the image (other than a camera...!) as it’s absolutely top notch

I’m changing the Nitron spring rate next week, will probably do Ohlins at a later date when funds allow. Other things are on the to do list first...

The Komotec kit details can be found here:
http://komo-tec.com/Shop/en/Exige/MK3-Toyota-V6/Po...

Mine produced 463hp on their dyno
That sounds amazing. I had the stock V6 and got rid, but that conversion on a 3-4 year old V6 puts you around the same price as 350 sport with a couple of thousand miles on it. Stunning, smart move.

They only made 3 in LY, 2 are in the UK and not for sale, the other one is abroad somewhere I believe.
Superb car! I actually owned one of the 3 Liquid Yellow Exige's you mentioned and did wonder if you had my old car (you don't, mine had a gloss black wing).

I would love to drive a Komotec tuned car one day as I'd imagine it's quite exciting!

Here's a photo of my car before I sold it...

Love the photos. When is London that quiet?!
Interested in any feedback on the tyres when you have some to offer please?
Got the trofeos on my v6 cup and thinking of trying something else next. Are you running different road tyres now too? Any suggestions?
Now you have the introns etc how do you think the handling compares to your mates cup? Yours seems to be sitting a little lower? Thanks.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I was considering the avon zzr route as ran them on a Westfield and happy with them, but not used in the wet. hadn't considered the nankang route so very helpful. Also looking at R888s, and just found your earlier feedback on the lotus forum on tyres. Thanks very much for sharing!

It's a shame LOTUS don't hire you or somebody else skilled to do their press shots.

Quite often their photos and videos look like they have been taken and uploaded straight from a mobile phone.
I can't imagine it's that expensive to hire a photographer. They are missing a trick.

Yes but a shame it's not for LOTUS.

I reckon they could have given him a good discount for a few snaps. Having some decent press photos and marketing would have a positive impact on how they are perceived i.e cheap.
