Absolutely love these, drove one whilst I was in Florida and was blown away by the straight line pull and the noise from those pipes.

Getting back in my standard Mustang at home was all a bit slow and muffled.

Excellent!

I would love one of these, I look forward to reading about how you are enjoying it and then one day, I hope to own something similarly bonkers.

They made an even bigger one called the Demon which has more than 800hp. In case 707hp is not enough.

Yeah, isn't it about 850 the demon ? There's a widebody version of the Hellcat too - some wider rubber to help put the power down. I might take a look at wider wheels on the rear for mine.

Superb !!! Great choice.

Real power there.

Watch out for those Teslas though wink (also, and of course of course, do not attempt to drag a remapped 535d)

Cool.

How "special" does it feel inside compared to the boggo V6 version? Does it mask that side of things quite well, or are there still hints of it in materials/build etc? I'm always impressed with the value for money of US market stuff in terms of grunt for the price, but they don't always feel like they've done all they could on other aspects.

Great choice OP, I've got one.

Never imagine she's fast in the real world. You'll be left for dead off the line by most things.

Of course, that's because you have deliberately lit up the rears and be laughing too hard to concentrate.

Either modify the exhaust or get something like a borla. You'll love it. Mine has no silencers, and the valves are permanently open (+few other mods).

Wicked fun. Most fun car I've ever owned (see profile....)
Do tell more, and post a pic if you want.

InitDave. I don't know - I haven't sat in my own car yet, let alone a V6. I have sat in a Hellcat and there is a bit of hard plastic amongst the leather and alcantara. But I'm used to US cars and anyway the Hellcat feels better than my old Viper. And the Viper was fine by me.

I'll get to have a look at the car this weekend.

Don't fight it. Light it.
The 500 or so in the Viper was good fun. No ABS or traction. Even 335's were easy to light up wink
But then, if you were sensible with the right foot is was pretty rapid around a track.

I agree! All that limp-wristed Euro trash like the M5, "Maclarens" and that really boring GT2 or something.. How rubbish.. wink
All at least double the price...the point we buy small hatches, in American they buy proper cars.

I have a 6.1 SRT8 Challenger, and a Hellcat is next on the list.

Love my Challenger, such a special thing, and makes so many people happy with its presence and noise.

The great thing is, we can take our kids in it too!

Great purchase OP, bet you’re like a kid at Christmas? Enjoy it!

Envious, currently in a 370hp R/T charger, and that’s easy to light up the rears, you’re going to have so much fun...

Isn't this the only current street car capable of doing a wheelie (read that somewhere) ??

Eitherway, good luck!

That would be the Demon, now the Hellcat.

Absolutely love these (and their Charger counter-part). Someone in West London has a black one and it was parked next to my 6 series one time - my 6 looked tiny in comparison - they really are big big cars.

One of my favourite cars full stop at the moment. I’d have one over most supercars or hypercars to be honest

One of the (small) reasons I plumped for the Hellcat is the useable back seat.
Running a close second was a new GT350 Mustang.
I was considering a Camaro, but the back seats in the new cars are next to useless - may as well get a 2 seater.

The challenger is a big car. It's based on the Mercedes Benz W210 E Class Platform from 1995-2002. FCA has been talking about building the next one on the Alfa Romeo Gulia platform but that's on hold. Fiat has not invested any money on new model design, but instead spent on improving existing designs and adding technology. For this reason, I suspect that Fiat is trying to find a new buyer for the company.

Someone mentioned interiors earlier on. The Challenger had a redesign a few years ago and the interior quality improved about 1000%.

You're not wrong. I've had a 2014 SRT8 for a good couple of years now. I always knew it was big, but was really surprised to find it was longer than the Mrs's LR Discovery 3. Looking at the dimensions, its a good 8" longer. Staggering when you consider the interior space isn't all that!
