Monte Carlo blue is an great colour, I may be biased though...

Adding the wood to the A/C controls works really well, I replaced the well worn gear lever gaiters in our D2 and it makes a huge difference.

Before you spend any more money or time on it please make sure it doesnt loose coolant or overheat. It wont be the headgasket, it's the block and the reason they get moved on to another punter/sucker.
If the engine is good, then everything else is fixable at a reasonable cost.
Listen to this man & check his website, it may be helpful thumbup

Hope things go well.

A cracking purchase, and you seem well committed. You'll be able to squeeze far more lasses in that than your mates slammed Honda's too cool

Is the plan a general tidy up, or may it end up as a full restore?

I've always fancied a RRC but thats an impossibility because of the price

However the P38 has become my ultimate range rover.

So Yes a full resto is inevitable lol

i'm planning a full respray

Top end engine rebuild

full walnut interior

Re upholster the seats

re-weld the rear bumper mounts because it has rotted away so the bumper droops on one side!! lol

refurbish the wheels or get a set of 18" Mondial wheels which is better looking imo.

fit stainless side steps

plastic wide arches which were a rare addition which make the P38 look the NUTS

Front plastic nudge bar with spot lights

New VCU mine whines like bh

replace sunroof the current one is very corroded and leaks!

EBC Offroad disks with green pads all round.

New headliner

Full Janspeed stainless exhaust.

there is more lol

but thats all i can think of for now smile

This is the inspiration for my P38

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Another fellow PH member with one of the best P38's i've ever seen, i hope to get it close to that standard.

So @D4MJT feel free to comment on my project if you like what you see lol

I'll watch with interest then. If of any use (geographically, I'm in the East Mids) my company restores leather for a fraction of a re-trim cost. I'll flick back through your pics, check if they'd be suitable for this - as in could be made mint.

Edit - as long as there are no tears/ holes then that doesn't need re-trimming. It shall restore.

I've not tried it, but I swear by LTT Leather Care. Avoid anything with oils or the like in (to 'polish' it, it shall feel greasy) as this just sits on the surface attracting muck, the very thing which wrecks finish. The same with silicone, bees wax or any other crap which many put in their stuff.

For EG I'd do a pigment restore of the lot for > £400.

Could you PM some details please? I’m Leicester based and the seats on my 996 looking tired. Might be a job for the spring when she comes out of hibernation

I always say use whatever works for you, but strictly speaking a leather cleaner shouldn't contain any perfume, it should be PH neutral.
