Sounds familiar. I've just collected my 650i from BMW having its valve stem seals replaced. So they had the engine apart, put it all back together, but forgot the put the air con belt back on. Oh, thanks! So no air-con in the hottest continuous period we've had in ages. Got it sorted somewhere else a few days later, but more money and aggro, that like you, isn't necessary.
st happens I guess.

Bolts paid for, just need to collect them tomorrow. £1.58. the labour will be more though.

Just picked up the bolts. I fking love my car. Windows down, V10 singing. I haven't felt this taken with a car since my first E39 M5. And before that was my first Cosworth.

lol, cheers. It isn't the cars fault as such, and I knew I would have some issues given that it is a complicated V10, and because they're known to give issues. Wouldn't be fair to complain about it smile

Its like Veterans look after each other in the US as they know the true horror, "E60 M5, you don't man, you weren't there", did he have a thousand yard stare and got a bit jumpy upon hearing a V10 ?

Glad its now sorted and you are enjoying it.

Very much enjoying it. I was grinning all the way back to work thanks to having AC. Grinning more than any normal guy should have been lol.

Ordered a new thermostat and housing seals for it last night. It will be getting an oil and filter change after my holiday in Newquay this weekend, so might as well do the thermostat as well. I get a little wobble from the front end under breaking. It has had the bushes / drop links all done and the brakes aren't that old, so I and wondering if the front wheels need balancing, as I also get a wobble at a certain speed.

I've sent my ECU map away for it to be modified by Fast Attack Motorsports. Once that is back I need to call my insurance company and get it added to keep me legal.

Then the plan is to look at a few other mods once my wallet has recovered hehe

The FAMS map is easily reversible, so you could just keep the tablet in the car and revert it to stock if/when the situation requires it whistle

Just got back from a long weekend in Newquay. As before the car performed perfectly. Used a lot of fuel though!! Lol

Over 500 miles covered in comfort and glorious V10 sounds. No pics unfortunately as the car spent the weekend parked in a b&b car park and I was busy getting cooked by the sun hehe

Since getting the car back from having the shells done it has covered around 650 miles and not used a drop of oil.

Still waiting for my map to arrive which is a little disappointing, but I am sure it will be with me soon.

Over the weekend I have decided to do the following works to the car:

New thermostat (ordered and previously mentioned).
Oil and filter change (previously mentioned).
Fuel filter change.
Charcoal cannister changed.
New fuel injectors.
I might get the spark plugs done at the same time. They're not due but while all that is in the open it makes sense.

What's wrong with the thermostat?
Also did you get the vibration under braking issue diagnosed? I had something similar, changed the discs and pads but still seems to be there (albeit much more subtle now).

I am getting a temp implausibility error. I've replaced both sensors so going after the stat. Others have had this issue so it's worth a try. I also don't know if it has ever been done so better to be safe than sorry.

Re the braking, it only happens at certain speeds so I think it may be a wheel balancing issue. I've not had time to get the front wheels rebalanced yet so it's on the list.

Very easy to knock the balance and tracking out on a bit of rough road.

I take it your going for new injectors to improve fuel economy haha

Yeah especially in bucks lol.

Lol, I'm going from 10 to 4 hehe
Mainly just want to make sure it doesn't suffer the issue with the injectors causing the engine to fail.

The map has arrived! I will be applying this today once I have called my insurance company.

Also found a keen price for Eibach lowering springs so considering lowering it a little.

Car is now mapped and insurance declared. Oooo she goes well now! Picks up at 4k and at 7k. It's like having two turbos!

This is what I used to flash the ECU.

I've now coded out comfort access completely, coded in digital Speedo on the obc and recoded in comfort closing, so that I can fold the mirrors and close the windows by keeping the button pressed when locking the car.

I need to relocate the obd port as well at some point.

I am definitely getting the E60 M5 experience! Charging fault error keeps returning. Goes away either on its own or by turning the car off and on again. I'm going to get the voltage regulator replaced.

The thermostat is throwing a fault so I am definitely having that replaced. Got all the bits to do that.

And lastly I think I have an SMG pump fluid leak. I definitely have a leak of something and I don't think it is Pas fluid or engine oil. So I am going to order new sump plugs and fluid and get the leak investigated and fluid changed for good measure.

Anyone want an M5? hehe
