great stuff,update time
Looks like you've been busted, nothing is secret for long is it.I demand satisfaction and details of your further tinkerings Sir,ha.
Some good work done there, its the smaller things as well that add up to make our cars so much better, like the lights etc.
Loving the wheels, similar vibe to my car though mine aren't the Rega real deal LOL.
Interesting in the fact you know/have spoken to the previous owner of the car,I got it through Torque as you know (so wasn't cheap exactly) but worth it.I knew the guys name was Sam too and i did ask if he'd traded it to them for a reason or if he'd changed it for another car through them but they wouldn't give any more detail. So apart from the obvious mods I have to take the rest of it as read,if you do have any info to share on it then please do.Nature of these cars means they are usually driven fairly enthusiastically ,I do wonder if at any time its ended up in the gravel at Snetterton or something,LOL.Front bumper has obviously been on and off a few times, its had some paint before.Think they said he'd fitted a splitter that lost itself on the first speed bump it came across!Who knows. But yeah, these cars are definitely the best of both worlds, huge boot on them and I can comfortably get my Granddaughter (s) in the back with their seats when I do the odd school run for my stepdaughter, and then can take the long way home after I've dropped them off and have a hoot.Brilliant. Mind you the brakes are pulling to the left so I suspect a sticky caliper possibly on drivers side. Not had chance to look yet,I'm guessing they're the standard CL7 units.

Just a 'bonus round' post with a bunch of photos from Snetterton last month. Give you a break from my rambling
Okay, well maybe a little ramble… we had two (vehicle) casualties during the day, heres the first:
I won't go into too much detail because I've not asked my friend if I can air his 'business' on a public forum. But essentially a pressure plate bolt decided it didn't fancy being couped up inside the bell housing any longer and made a run for it This inevietably meant one car was being taken home on a recovery vehicle. The good news is it was a bloody good excuse to do a serious gearbox rebuilt which is currently in progress.
The second casualty was the only French car we had in the group (I'm not saying anything )… Car came off track and wouldn't start. No lights on dash, nada. On inspection there was a blown fuse on the positive battery terminal, big chunky thing. Fuse got bridged, but every time they tried to start the car it either blew the bridge or fired sparks out of the engine bay. It turns out the Renault decided to position the starter motor right next to the exhaust manifold and apparently frying them on track is all part and parcel of tracking your Clio, great!
The good news is that we had to hang around for several hours after the track day had finished for the AA guy to turn up, and I was able to get some of my favourite shots of the Accord that I've taken during my ownership:
Extra good news is with a proper bridge for the fuse, and a good old fashioned bump start, my friend was able to drive the car all the way home without switching the ignition off The starter motor has been replaced, and wrapped in heat tape, and we have another track day next week so I'll let you know how that one goes!

Sorry! Not a huge amount happened recently but I do need to update this with the latest mods and trip to Wrexham…
In the meantime, I have started making the video from my Euro Roadtrip, part one is here – https://youtu.be/4m_5skJ1HcM

Nice production value, looks like a great trip (remember when we could do those?)
First real video I've made so appreciate that! (Other than just throwing a few track clips together here and there).I've pretty much just finished Part 2 that has a lot more of the twisty bits in it. Yeh I've been clucking for the next road trip for a while now!
Part 2 of the road trip vid is up! – https://youtu.be/uRu5wbrXWMw
Following us on the Zurich > Livigno leg of the trip. Includes footage from Julierpass, Berninapass and Fuorn/Ofenpass.

Just read through the entire thread. Watched your Euro trip videos and subscribed to your channel.
Fantastic stuff. Looking forward to more.

Been a bit rubbish at updates recently but it's certainly not forgotten about, nor has the next episode of the Euro antics. Returning to work whilst juggling childcare has left me little time to sit in front of the laptop right now – I'll get to it asap.
Enjoying the vids for sure fella..Nicely put together too,and the car seemed to eat the miles up easily.Such a good 'do anything' car the R, loving mine I have to say.Did you get any footage/shots of your ' mod' trip ? ( I won't say too much on here LOL ) Be good to see if you did, and with some detail too,if you can get time one day.
Great write up and you've partly inspired me to take the plunge and buy one myself. Picked it up last Monday from torque GT and am a very happy chappy. Previous owner had already done some good upgrades tein suspension, feels twin exhaust and a nice mugen gear knob. Very envious of your Alps trip, maybe one day when I've accumulated enough brownie points with the Mrs!

I think you're the only one following this thread now so I appreciate the support mate I'm going to sit tonight and go through my camera roll adding all Accord related images since the last update to an album... first step to updating this thing haha, lots has happened! Was the 'mod' trip the first mapping session?? We'll get to that haha...

Great to hear I inspired a purchase, hope you haven't been disappointed and have enjoyed the car thus far?! How is your brownie point balance looking? Any chance of an Alps trip any time soon :PAlright fella, yep you've been a bit slack on the ol' updates ,ha.
Think that would be the first trip up to TPW I'd be talking about,so was a while back, would be your trip up there with your first 'additions' on.
It's good to be able to see how people get on with their Euro's and handy to see how things work out,I was pleased I saw your advice on the UK ATR front caliper conversion and happy I did it,they are better.I dont do FB etc but I did subscribe to your CarsandThat on the 'Tube so can see how its progressed. Some nice footage there.I did get to have a look round your car at Go Japan at Brands the other year though,it was near the entrance but mine was parked on the opposite side that year as wasn't on a stand, next to my mates DC5. Regamasters looked smart, unfortunately you must have been on walkabout so didn't get chance to say hello.
My 87 Celica is going to be in need of a clutch and tyres in New year so a manifold will have to wait for the Accord, price of being greedy and running 2 modded cars lol. I could wait I guess but I will still take my car up to Paul for a remap with the car as it stands with the intake and exhaust and see how that goes,I know itll cost me another £500 on top again if I decide to do a mani upgrade later but I'll see how this first session improves the car driveability wise.
If anything it would be interesting to see the difference between readouts for stock v upgrade if i do go that route later.Rear ARB may be a consideration as well,it was a great addition to the Celica fitting the Whiteline one. The Accord does have coilies and Hardrace control arms front and rear so handles great as it is but again, good to see a comparison but perhaps track time is the best way to see.I do have a spot for an invite only day at Prescott hillclimb again for '24,I've had the Celica do runs the last couple years but I'm planning on taking the Accord this time, its in April so should at least have the remap done by then.
If you get time,by all means update this thread, will be good to see the progress in stages up to where you are now with it.
