that is absolutely incredible work, i really do envy your skill set!
I don't think words could describe how much i love your car!
Are you still able to drive on the raf site?
Thank you! I'm unsure about the RAF site, i haven't been there since. I know it was used for Airsoft as there was BB balls everywhere, quite a cool place....shame it's so run down and not preserved.I don't think words could describe how much i love your car!

I've been following this with great interest; superb work!
I have to ask: how and where did you learn to fabricate like that?
Thanks for the comment.I have to ask: how and where did you learn to fabricate like that?
Well,
Straight from school i started an apprenticeship working at Safety Devices (roll cages etc) and i was there for two years until the company went down the pan (it's now known as Safety Devices International Ltd, new owner). After that i then started working at a local Architectural Fabrication company where i finished my Apprenticeship and got my NVQ's. I was mainly involved in the TIG welding/fiddly side of of things although now and again i had to do structural steel/railings etc...i was there 11 years before setting up on my own business (Artisan MetalCraft ) in 2017.
The majority of metal shaping/hammer forming and manipulating metal etc is all self taught, years of working on my own cars and projects learning new ways to do things.
I think that pretty much some's it up

Looks great. If it was me, i'd be tempted to leave the aluminium finish rather than paint it.

Great work Adam, and good to see it slowly going back together!
In terms of the bumper the estoril/ali/carbon leaves a little too much going on for me so I'm behind your plan of colour coding, will also help the carbon diffuser really stand out.
What have you got to do underneath to make the exhaust work? Assume it'll be a completely custom effort?
Thanks, it's quite nice finally putting things back together. In terms of the bumper the estoril/ali/carbon leaves a little too much going on for me so I'm behind your plan of colour coding, will also help the carbon diffuser really stand out.

Finally, somebody that agrees! It would be rather 'busy' looking if it was left bare Aluminium, theirs quite a lot going on plus it will have four shiney tips hanging out of it.
The exhaust will be the standard M3 silencer......but smaller. It's currently under way, it's a project on it's own

Problem with leaving ally bare like that is that it will corrode and look all nasty.
See the stuff all the time exfoliating and going a milky patchy white
Agreed. Clear anodizing would keep it protected. Would have to be done well though....See the stuff all the time exfoliating and going a milky patchy white

The carbon won't stand out though; CSL diffusers are a dime a dozen now but an alloy/carbon diffuser? Now that packs a visual punch! Just my opinion, though.
I think what i might do, leave it bare until the car is on it's wheels and i can push it outside to see what it looks like from a distance....it's quite difficult to see when its against a wall. I do see your point though.amc_adam said:
