Welcome team tangerine!

Good plan to just enjoy it and not worry about it. Mine is only getting done as it had structural issues, not just cosmetic.

As an ex 911 owner (3.2 Carrera Supersport) and Elise (Sport135 S1) and now current Lotus owner (Elan +2), you post fills me with joy! A cracking looking pair of cars, and so nice to have the 911 handed down in the family. Your dad must be so pleased to see you get pleasure from it.

Looking forward to seeing more pics and hearing about their use.

The Exige is great but man, I really love early 911's and your's just looks superb. Great that's its stayed in the family so long too. More and more pics please!

Two cars on my dream garage list right there. Outstanding

Add an orange Escort mk2 and you're even closer

can only see a couple of pictures of the 911 and none of the Exige (probably due to work PC), but lovely combo. I've got a 911 too (slightly younger than yours) and looking for a Lotus to join. Nice combo!

What an awesome pair of cars! I love 70's cars but couldnt afford a 911 but luckily get to be around them as my mate runs a place that specialises in Porsches. The exige is a nice touch too, especially in orange to match, couldnt be any other colour really!

You probably know this but the 911 doesn’t need an MoT anymore unless for your own peace of mind.

Fellow V6 Cup owner here, along with a lover of older Porka's.

Great thread and background history. Really looking forward to the updates.

I love this thread and the backstory of the 911. I've also got a T of the same vintage and, like yours, it's no minter and I've got decisions to make over paintwork etc. I could spend a lot of money on it and then become precious about how I use it and where I park it. I suspect that could ruin the joy of ownership and I'm tempted to let it wear its scars with pride until I'm forced to do something. Whatever you choose to do, OP, keep us posted and keep on enjoying the journey. smile

Max this is not helpful.
I still gaze at my empty garage trying convince myself it was the sensible decision and then you post this!
Like looking up an old girlfriend!
Glad you’re enjoying the Exige though.

Two beautiful cars. I love the history behind the Porsche and I would find it impossible to sell given that provenance.
