Ha thanks. Wasn't planning too but my kids are eyeing it up with a view to driving it in the future so that may well change.

I would seriously consider one as you have zero rollover protection as is

I'd definitely echo this - there's nothing to stop you and a passenger being brown bread if things go really wrong.

No argument on either post on the dangers of rolling the car but like all things it's a personal choice regarding risk, plenty of people still driving around and even racing classics without, also lots of older MG Midgets and Frogeyes where the screen is just bolted on and really offer no protection either.

I'll be honest from a safety point of view you wouldn't want to crash in this car full stop and the problem I have with roll bars is they generally look st and to be effective they should be high which looks even worse, I am still thinking on it and I suspect it won't be done initially but quite likely will be added shortly after completion but will be just above head height and be as visually unobtrusive as possible.

At least then you can have an open coffin at the funeral.

Apologies if I missed it - any engine mods planned?
Out the factory with high on 100bhp/ tonne and you want more 😁
Ok so 60 ish bhp is probably not the usual PH territory but very difficult to extract more.
Standard ECU hits the limiter @ 9k and is speed limited to 140kph at 8.5k so gearbox is the limiting factor. Acceleration would be improved with more power and with something like 45lb/ft torque you really need to thrash **** out of 'em to make progress.
Mine has a 'chipped' ECU with limiter removed and still tops out at 90mph.
Fun comes in all shapes and sizes.

Tiny increase in displacement but hoping for close to 15 pct weight reduction which should help. A magazine road test exclusive would be good wink

I can absolutely understand why people may want more but can't wait to thrash the living wotsits off it and still be under the national speed limit, torque shmorque....

Are there any MOT issues with this modified version?

From checking with a MOT tester so far no, but until it's done ans tested we won't know 100 pct for sure.

A couple of weeks back I was coming home from a few days in Cheshire and on the M1 there was a Cappuccino in amongst all the traffic, it looked ridiculously brilliant. Roof was down too.

There's one for sale near me at the moment and I'm trying to convince myself I don't need it
