Great video Pete. Thanks for the insight into what they do at Topaz. The depth and level of finish is seriously impressive.
+1 That M3 must be the cleanest example I've ever seen. Fairly certain the paint is in better condition than a brand new E46 as well! They were known for having the 'ye olde orange peel' effect on the boot lid and side body panels when new.
How's the YT channel coming along? (Modern) classics on modern tyres has to be worth a punt! Just how quick would an F40 be on new rubber in the hands of a pro driver??
I’ll get on top of all my commitments soon.

Family motto when someone is in the doldrums or sick: keep them distracted and keep them company!
My first contribution to what is a fantastic thread - great work all round OP. Beautiful Lusso and I love what you have done with that M3 and I say that as someone who has never owned a BMW.
But a question if you dont mind - my understanding is that you are putting together a collection of cars that will increase in value so you presumably think that certain petrol powered cars will continue to have high value even as electric/alternative-fueled cars become more common? We are starting to hear of dates by which time certain engines will not be allowed on the roads and I can see that the Lusso will always be valuable, but do you think contemporary Ferraris will also be valuable in say 30 years time?

Glad you’re enjoying the thread. Stick around, I promise it’ll definitely get more interesting throughout the year.
Do I think contemporary Ferrari’s will be valuable in 30 years time?
I think they’ll be more valuable than what’s to be expected.
Do I think we’ll get rid of fossil fuels in the next 30 years? Hell no, there’s no way we can make it work any other way. Dozens of wars have been fought over dinosaur juice with hundreds of thousands slain.
But yes, the electric/hybrid evolution will inevitably push the prices of these supercars through the stratosphere. You see if the government makes a charge for this change then at that’ll happen is they’ll make the cheap cars obsolete, the mid range cars expensive and the supercars unobtainable for anything less than the 1%.
Will we change our ways and level climate change? No way, the scholars have been speaking about climate change since the 1910’s and we’ve not exactly done much about it.
Well that’s just my thoughts anyway.
Wow some more stunners there pete that lusso looks incredibly cool out and about and also tiny in the picture with the Range Rover behind! And the TDF and 458 just don’t let the crappy plate threaders see that numberplate they’ll have a melt down! Il keep my eyes peeled for you when next in AE.

Thanks, it does look tiny compared to the Range Rover doesn’t it. I don’t get it though, are you calling my plate crappy or the people crappy?
Pete... I was reading the PH story about the upcoming RM Auction and it got me thinking about your collection. You own a lot of cars now, and from what I can remember, the recent purchases all seem to be from dealers, I can't remember any being bought at auction (that you have disclosed at least!). Is this a deliberate choice? Just curious really, as a lot of these cars going up for auction seem to be of the ilk that would interest you.

I’d have thought the values of the best are propped up by owners of the not-the-best. Take them away and the values will fall?
I love your collection, don’t get me wrong, but is the plan for it to honestly be a strong investment in the long term?
And if so, is that still the case if you exclude the limited-edition Ferraris from the business case?

That Lusso is just a jewel, a sheer thing of beauty. I don’t know if I’d bother with anything else if I had that car, nothing would seem exciting.

I was thinking of you earlier Pete when I pulled up in traffic behind a red 695 Biposto with a Ferrari badge on the boot.
