presumably most of them are used to getting huge offers all of the time though?

obviously a 1 of 1 but I remember Jim on ferrarichat saying his p4/5 had recieved a couple of offers from Dubai that if accepted would have made it the most expensive car ever sold by a factor of 3! it can get crazy out there
That would have made it a 200 million dollar car????

Are you really going to drop like £50m(?) on a single car?!

You absolute madman. That garage is going to be another level.
No the series 2 isn’t £50m, I’ve been seeing them around $42m, which considering we’ll be going around the $1.50 - £1 later on next year I think that’s a better pill to swallow.
Still stupid but I reckon with some big deposits and some clever financing I should get it done

Absolutely fair play. Would you ever drive it at those values do you think?

Excellent laugh

It's all relative but my 2002 that i've built is far more value-wise than a man of my modest wage 'should' own to many people. Doesn't stop me taking it out in the North Pennines at every opportune moment and kicking its tits in, that's what it was bought and built up for and by the looks of the SCD videos and what not you'll be doing the same!

Exactly hahaha, and well done on your 2002, is it a ti or turbo?
I consistently drive something more expensive than I should own haha. I mean the restoration bill on my 250 Lusso is making me cry constantly. Life is super short, might as well enjoy it.

Thank You and it's inbetween, it's a Tii but on itb's and more power than a turbo, big brakes, half cage, Nitron suspension etc. great fun biggrin

I'm looking forward to more on the Lusso, proper dream build material and it'll be so special to you i'm sure, with it being completely to your specification!

Well I’m definitely not a billionaire but I do ok for myself I guess. So it’s quite straightforward if you know the right people. I know of every 250 GTO series 1 & 2, it’s not hard either, just go on www.barchetta.cc and look up the car you want and it’ll give a full history of that particular car, then reach out to the owner and ask them if they want to sell. Most of them don’t even think about selling their car until you ask them then it’s like a lightbulb goes off in their head. You confirm a price, show your bank statements or get a letter from your accountant to show you’ve got the readies, then you meet somewhere neutral and see the car. If it’s everything you hoped it would be then you get your accountant or solicitor to wire their accountant or solicitor the money or you use Steve McLaren at Ferrari Financial Services and hey presto once the money has cleared and that person has sent the car away to have a final inspection then you usually get the car within about a month. Gives the current owner enough time to properly say goodbye to it, sounds weird but it’s an emotional thing saying goodbye to a car costing so much money. You start to think of all the hardships you’ve had to endure just so you could save enough money to buy it, then you remember all those extra special drives out you had in it, then you start thinking “stballs, did I make the right decision selling it?” then you really panic knowing you’ve made the wrong decision, then you numb the pain by going shopping and usually buying something even more expensive and ludicrous, thus starting the process all over again.
It’s a fun thing, one that has consumed my life and one that now my wife absolutely hates hahaha.
Not quite the "drunken eBay man-maths bidding process followed by turning up with the cash hoping it isn't a complete dog" approach that I favour then?!

Ooh Alfaholics GTA-R! Is that in build or something that will begin in the future? Would be interested to know what spec you go for... based on you buying the Singer DLS in the same spec as the demo car, will the GTA-R be the same spec as the one Chris Harris drove in his video?

I really want the guy at McLaren Financial Services to be called Bob Ferrari.

Do something useful, use some of your car moolah to make them change their name to Bob Ferrari.

Not in build yet, I rang Max today to talk about the spec I want but he didn’t pick up so I’ll try again tomorrow
