My boyhood dream, immaculate 1993 Cavalier Turbo
Discussion
incredible - congratulations.
I would have happily paid that asking price if it is as good as it looks.
I always wanted a mint Cavalier Turbo but bought one that looked nice on top but was rotten.
I paid £750 for it back in 2002 and put the engine in my mk4 Astra SRI.

A mate of mine got a 4x4 cavalier turbo as a company car with an advertising company. He was not a car geek just that image was important to them.
I drove that car across the Pennines before any silly cameras etc and it was without doubt the best A-B car I have ever driven. It gripped like a pitbulls jaws and was bloody fast and just fantastic balance.
ISTR that the 4wd system was not robust but by god it was one quick car in it's day.
Yours looks lovely.

Still fast even today wasn’t it 5.5-6seconds to 62mph? I drove that car across the Pennines before any silly cameras etc and it was without doubt the best A-B car I have ever driven. It gripped like a pitbulls jaws and was bloody fast and just fantastic balance.

One of those cost me 9 points on my licence back when they were new. The company I worked at had a Ford fleet and Vauxhall were trying to woo us away. A couple of other members of the management team had it before me, with the same result.
Absolutely magnificent machine. I spent 3 years driving Miss Daisy in a Sierra Sapphire.........

Awesome purchase and what a find to get one with low miles and in that condition. Don’t be shy with pics and updates.
Hopefully the standard look exhaust backbox will also be part of your plans too
I kind of like this one, very similar to OEM. It's just a back box so easily changeable if an OEM one does come upHopefully the standard look exhaust backbox will also be part of your plans too

I’ve searched fastlaps and elsewhere online but cannot see the 0-100mph time?
At a guess 16-18 seconds or is it stronger/similar to the Fiat Coupe 20 V Turbo?
The Calibra 4x4 turbo is 16.9, so your estimate is probably about right tbf. Still reasonably quick by today's standards I thinkAt a guess 16-18 seconds or is it stronger/similar to the Fiat Coupe 20 V Turbo?

I remember these being quite a weapon at the time, pretty rare even at the time as well.
Not really been on my radar but it does get me nostalgic, and it shows what a huge impression things make on us when we are kids.
I still have a hankering for a Capri 2.8i which was my equivalent of your Cavalier boyhood dream.
I had 2 Capri 2.8 Injections in the 80s - should have moved on to a Cossie but they were virtually uninsurable at the time. Not really been on my radar but it does get me nostalgic, and it shows what a huge impression things make on us when we are kids.

But I did have a 1992 Cavalier SRi for a while in the 90s and it was a great car - just a shame it wasn't a GSi.
Still I know someone who works for Jeff Allam (and no, it's not you Sammo) - Jeff was pretty handy in a Cavalier in the BTCC, just not quite up to the John Cleland level.
But James Thompson put Vauxhall back on the map, albeit briefly!
I had a Gsi in black. G464 CFA if I remember right. Loved it especially after an XR2
Kept it 2 years and got my money back because they were sought after at the time.
However a family friend trumped it by buying a grey Turbo.
I think he paid 16k in '95/96 for a K reg car
Sad thing was he ended up never using it because he had to hide it away due to constant theft attempts .
Anyway. Well done!
