Exactly. Had a S60 for 10 months with no issues, just needing a service and only problem it wasn't an estate. Bought an E39 for £500 with a lot of niggling issues (wheel alignment, suspension knocks, needs tyres, oil leaks, broken tailgate) which will end up costing me more money. The missus was not impressed as I now need to try and shift the Volvo.

To be honest the BMW was bought as a project to tinker with and the estate will be handy with the dog and tip runs but sometimes you think why am I getting rid of a perfectly good volvo.
Totally know where you are coming from, my old shed is a 2007 Megane DCI and is immaculate, 60MPG all day, £30 annual road tax and has not cost me a penny in two years and 24K miles.

My girlfriend was not impressed at all when I turned up in a Filthy dirty 2005 Civic Type S which has been unloved and feels old compared to the Megane. I could see her thinking "Why can't we just have a new car like everyone else?""

It is alarming seeing the fuel gauge going down on the Honda, even though I have worked it out at 39MPG. The fuel tank is smaller and it feels like I have to fill up twice as often as the Megane which makes the economy feel worse than it is. To be honest, like you I am thinking why do I want to get rid of a perfectly good car which is much cheaper to run, feels more modern and is in much better condition.

This is why I still have both of them, I change my mind about which one to keep on a daily basis.

Excellent shed! I'm in the same boat. Keep thinking about swapping out the Golf for something else just to mix things up for the drive to work and back. The problem is I know I won't find a better car than what I've already got, after all the bits and pieces I've done to it over the last 17 months!

So i have bought a newer C30 to replace the S60. With one dog, and another pup coming in a few weeks I wanted a small hatchback and the saloon wasn't practical.

its currently got 4 months MOT, but will give it a fresh ticket and stick it on the usual places and see if anyone is interested.

The old Volvo has finally gone to its new home. After getting limited interest due to the clutch issue, guy bought it this morning for £350. Normally rides a motorbike, but with the weather due to get worse he wanted a run around to get through the winter.

Would have liked a bit more money, but it needed to go and clear space from the drive.
