Jaguar XE SV Project 8
Discussion
I am collecting mine later this week, so will add to this thread if anyone is interested ?
Potted history of my car history started with mainly Audi RS, when they were proper RS cars - limited production, rare, wide body and interesting engine ... interesting similarity to the Project 8 in many ways ...
Anyway, several C5 RS 6, B7 RS 4 etc passed by until I moved onto R8's - sublime in V10 guise.
Then the F-TYPE stole my heart when it was released. Stunning looks and stunning sound.
I bought a F-TYPE R Coupe in 2016 and enjoyed 17k glorious miles across Europe and all number of Circuits - I loved it.
Then the pitter patter of tiny feet entered my life, and suddenly 2 seats was no longer really practical.
That didn't stop me purchasing a McLaren 12C earlier this year - and enjoying 4 months and 4k miles of trouble free motoring, including a track day at the Nurburgring, but really, I rarely had the opportunity to use it, and if I am honest, it was a bit sterile....
And so, the Project 8.
When it was first teased, back in early 2017, I was instantly interested. It ticked so many boxes .... wide body, fast, loud, and 4 seats ! and a lineage to the Jaguar brand that I had grown fond of through the fantastic F-TYPE R experience.
I contacted several Jaguar Retailers, and duly got the opportunity to attend an evening VIP reveal at Oxford road, with several Project 7 owners in toe.
The car, and its details were revealed ... stunning in every way, but I was hoping it would be cheaper - although that the same time had not anticipated just how far JLR had pushed the performance envelope which is reflected in the price.
I resigned myself to miss this opportunity - and grasped at straws that a XE SVR would at some point be born - although I knew this was extremely unlikely in reality.
Fast forward 12 months, and things change and through a mixed bag of trusty man maths & good timing - the what seems a distant dream, became a distant reality.
An order was placed.
And now, this week, I shall take delivery !

WOW, what a bonkers, unique car!
What colour have you gone for or are they all orange?
More importantly, what do you do for a living and how do I do it?!

Harry’s Garage on YT - he’s done a nice little segment on this with some full bore launch numbers. You should check it out
Harry (aka Maser) has had his on the rollers and it's a healthy car bhp-wise. Harry's also apparently racking the miles up on his as he's also got a 4 seater. Agreed, it's good to see a prospective owner whose going to use it properly Gassing Station | Readers' Cars | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
