So I used to have an Audi S4 avant in B8 form and I had it mapped and changed the exhaust and pulley etc and it was a rocket ship... it sounded amazing but I have had a serious pining for a V8 for quite a while so took the plunge when I had the opportunity... it’s fair to say I am absolutely in love with it after 2 days!

It returned 31mpg on the way home on the motorway which I was VERY impressed with! It has so many toys that I haven’t yet worked them all out and it sounds awesome, if possibly a little on the quiet side.

The car is also a much bigger car than I thought that it was, the wheels are 20’s but don’t look especially massive.

I will get some better pictures over the weekend I would imagine!

Awesome big cars.

They were on my list when I was car hunting.

It really is and the engine is a beaut, so much at any revs.

The car has a red leather interior and carbon fibre effect on the dash etc. As mentioned I will get some pics this weekend.

Very nice op. One of these was on my shortlist, as was a B8 S4 when I sold my E55. I ended up with an E60 M5. How does it compare performance wise to the Audi? Any plans for the Jag?

Yeah I’m not sure why that picture has posted upside down it is certainly not that way on my phone. Performance wise the XFR is more brawny that the S4 but it’s difficult to tell currently which is quicker as the S4 just gripped and went and the Jag doesn’t grip till your rolling at a much higher speed... rolling from 50 or so the Jag feels quicker, it’s supposed to do 50-70 in 1.9 seconds and I can’t imagine 70-90 would be much slower! I don’t have any major plans for this one, I may look at some minor exhaust mods to give a bit more noise at some point but at the minute it’s just perfect really!

Nice these, and the economy can be very surprising.

I remember our E55 AMG easily achieving 30mpg on a run despite a massive Supercharged V8.

Yeah definitely! As long as the economy is ok on a run then I can handle the 14-15mpg around town that I have been getting so far!

Nice upgrade! My brother had one for a while, he stuck a set of Mina Gallery backboxes on and it sounded filthy -

Keep an eye on the timing chain and tensioners, I think there have been issues with some of them.

Thanks for the info I will keep an eye out for that, I think that may be the only mod I carry out to be fair... it’s hardly wanting for power (I may get used to that I guess) but it could be a little louder and these seem a good compromise! Do you know if there was any drone at all? The car is so luxurious and quiet on a run and I would like to keep it that way apart from when I want it to be loud!

Sold my XFR back in December , I had a spires rear section on it and it sounded , also had mine remapped and pulley swapped so it was a little over 600hp , nice cars , enjoy

Cheers mate it must have been a beast, it already pulls like a train now! Did the spires backboxes drone at all?

There was some drone at certain revs, I’ve had a few aftermarket exhausts on various cars over the years and I’ve yet to find something completely drone free.

Yeah I have had exhausts on all my cars for quite a few years I just don’t want to spoil the jag with too much noise at motorway speeds for example... I’m sure they would be fine though I had a non resonated Milltek on my Audi and that droned slightly but settled out under a steady throttle.

My Jag XFR with Stage 2 Spires exhaust

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVL76ntNZLs

Looking to drop the middle section later this year for a X pipe, also from Spires.
You'll love the XFR, no drone with the back boxes being changed, but lower MPG. Just because you'll want to hear it all the time.

I got a couple of pics of the interior of the car tonight for anyone that’s interested, I just keep falling a bit more in love with it every time I get in it!

Oh and a little snip of the standard exhaust noise
