Hi everyone, I have a 30+ year career in the automotive industry with my career starting out at Vector Aeromotive in Wilmington California. I also am the only Vector employee with one of the 17 production W8's. Several of the owners are friends of mine and its a fairly tight nit group. I have been a ASE certified master Mechanic since 1989 in 9 categories. I have several other cars, from a Supercharged 2015 Toyota Tundra making 550hp to a Nismo Edition 350z and even a Cobra kit car in the stable. Daily driving resides with a Nissan Nismo Juke RS that is tweeked to put down some decent numbers. I am in the process of starting a new project with another member out here that is already pretty famous amongst the group, but more on that later. [url]

What an interesting fleet; more details/photos on Vector please.

Did you get Top Trump cards in the US back in the day? That was my introduction to the model.

I have a very extensive collection of memorabilia on the car. I have tried to collect everything the cars have ever been featured in or on. I do have the Top Trumps card with the Vector on it. But a ton of books and magazines that the cars were featured in from around the world. [url]

Nice!!

What’s done to the Juke? 99% sure that’s our next car, we’ve got the Tekna at the moment.

The Juke has a 14 PSI turbosmart blow off valve, a large intercooler, a large CVT cooler as its the AWD version. A Injen 2nd cat delete down pipe, an Injen short runner cold air intake, and a few other goodies along with a UpRev tune on a Mustang AWD dyno.

There was a good piece in CAR magazine here in the UK about the Vector back in the day, and an interview with the owner of the company (Weigert was it?? - memory working overtime).

I think Vector must have been quite pleased with the publicity, as CAR got another drive a year or so later.

Very much an automotive unicorn.

Interacting car. How does it compare to modern supercars?

Amazing! I purchased the retro top trumps cards which feature this last week and was wondering what on earth this car was!

Oh man, a Vector. I've been intrigued by these since they used to occasionally featured the W2 in car magazines in the very early 1980s.

Such a cool car.

I'm sure I had a poster of a Vector that was a freebie with Fast Lane Magazine way back in the 80s. I framed it and hung it on the wall of my student flat. Never really heard much of them before or since.

I knew the Vector was low, but that photo next to the Tundra just shows how low!

Genuine question, do people miss seeing the car on the road and just pull over into your space? That would feel disconcerting regardless of car, but in something as rare as this, eek!

Second question if I may be greedy - what’s it actually like to drive vs. contemporary cars? Fast goes without saying, but could you/can you/do you go to Walmart (other stores are available wink) in it?

Jerry or Gerry Weigert. The example used in the CAR feature was black and looked positively evil. 650hp from a twin turbo all aloooominum V8.

I remember seeing the launch stuff about this car and Gerry, back in the day. Yes, that car was black. I may even still have the article somewhere.
