We inspected it on a ramp and rejected it. What a shame as the colour combo was lovely.
OP, do you find that the PS4 are quite pressure sensitive? I put some on my estate and went for a spirited drive - multiple steering inputs required on-line and they weren't stable under changes of direction... fully loaded and with pressures to suit... they are stable as you like in all weather conditions up to about 130mph!
I've never had the issue you've described. OP, do you find that the PS4 are quite pressure sensitive? Sounds like you may need a 4 wheel alignment? Or maybe your tyres have worn unevenly due to alignment. I'd find someone competent and who uses a Hunter machine. Please do let me know how you get on

However, London to Glasgow on Saturday in all weathers and fully loaded - stable and predictable as you like.
I should add that the tyre reviews youtube channel compared these to Eagle F1 and PremiumContact and reported similar vagueness on responsiveness.
The Aegean looked all kinds of lovely, stunning combination of colours.
Fantastic cars, I'm on my second, the latest one re-sale silver over coal mine, not that imaginative
Regarding chains/rod bearings, unless the car has been neglected earlier in it's life changing those seems pre mature, but if you plane to have the car a lot longer so why not. A mate changed all of that on his at 280000 km's (173000 miles) and the guides nor the bearings had any noticeable wear on them.

Gorgeous M5, deffo a car on my to own list in the very near future...
I’d love an E46 M3 but not sure I’d fit in one well enough
I’m 6’5” and am very comfortable in mine!I’d love an E46 M3 but not sure I’d fit in one well enough
At 6ft 4 myself; it's not just my height but my width as well; as an active powerlifter/stone lifter and lifter of anything that's stupidly heavy; I'm far from your average build at 22stone
Therein lies my issue; my back/shoulders/legs and arse cause all sorts of issues when trying to fit into cars

Thread update. Due to limited use I don't have much of an update other than the car will now permanently be stored in the dry. Has now been SORN'd.
A few pictures I took before parking it up for the winter. Will need go back in a few days to plug the CTEK in ..

I am sorry to say I am not a fan of modern BMW's but the E39 M5 is possible one of the best cars ever built. I once worked for a BMW dealership in sales and was lucky enough to have a newly registered M5 to go to a friends wedding. Rest assured that car was exercised the whole weekend.
Thread Update,
Putting the M5 away for winter didn’t last long. I found myself going back and forth just to look at it – I’m weird like that … only with the M5 though. Tax’d and bought it back home only to find that I’m getting some light use out of it. Taking my son to the park and running the odd short essential trip. Had the front tyres changed today .. Michelin PS4’s to match the rear axle. Wheels are looking a bit tired – they’ll be sent off to be refurbed back to shadow chrome in the next week or two. Rod bearings booked with Mr Vanos for end of May.

Love this car! I’m patiently waiting for an Oxford Green example, I also run an F31 daily.
Out of curiosity, who will you get to refurbish the wheels? I know OEM shadow chrome isn’t the easiest to replicate, some examples end up looking quite dark. Your current finish looks quite original?
Cheers.

Thanks guys.
The wheels are looking a bit tired now with corrosion. I always felt the wheels look a touch lighter than what they should from factory. Lepsons are excellent, nothing but great reviews all the time. If was closer I’d definitely use them.
I had a company in mind - they are very local to me and have done a friends E39 M5 to an excellent shadow chrome finish.

Quite a long overdue update. I still own the car and there aren’t any plans to ever sell it. Wheels have been refurbed to shadow chrome. Gave it a quick clean today with the helping hand from my 3 year old son. Yes, he’s three years old now and so is the time I’ve owned the M5.
