Looks good. How do you find the H+R's?

Looks smart. You had a 1/4 mile time out of it yet?

I haven’t, not really my thing but I’m sure at some point it might see the strip, rather twisties! Car loves them

We came very close to getting one of these, but got the A6 instead. Was simply newer and faster (stock), with more options. Saying this, you have turned yours into an absolute bullet of a car, many high performance Audis today wouldn't match this. Very nice!

Good luck with your project. After owning a similar age tts, i've still got a new clutch if you need one for sale. Unfortinately i couldnt stand the understeer from the haldex, its very much a fast in straight ahead direction car..

I think the understeer is pretty much standard Audi fare unfortunately.

Usually when I hear ‘fast road’ I envisage giant intercooler sticking out of a stone chipped bumper.

Your car looks fantastic, bet it goes like the clappers. Very tastefully modified.

Thanks, yes it certainly doesn’t hang around and with the plans over the winter with a larger turbo and meth should be over the 500bhp mark

With the current spec i have done its massively improved, yes understeer is always going to be there but it needs to be pushed bloody hard to find it.

Stock it was as bad as my Vxr for going straight over roundabouts

I like that - you've done a nice job there. Looks purposeful but not at all lary. Like you say, I always found the balance of these to be fairly neutral unless you were trying extremely hard. If you get your entry speed right on quality tyres you can maintain the nice squat, grippy feeling all the way through a turn.

I always wonder with people who upon the suggestion of an Audi shout 'understeer' if they're merely scary behind the wheel or downright terrifying. For that to be your first impression you'd really have to have very little sense of self preservation.

Very nice mate. I do like these quite stealthy without the badges on most people wouldn't know it's that quick.

I guess to answer that question you could just ask any one of any motoring journalists from any magazine ever. rolleyes Or indeed the OP as he has admitted it was quite bad as standard.

Based entirely on first hand experience having driven many hundreds of Audis many thousands of miles over a long period of time (on road and on track).

Am quite certain there are those for whom it is an issue but the way the internet propagates the myth is a long way departed from reality.

Much like all Italian cars exploding, Japanese cars being souless, and Range Rovers only being bought by showoffs. Not saying the stereotypes have zero basis in reality but they don't half get overinflated.

Mine stock wasn’t great, contis didn’t help and I honestly did lack confidence. It wasn’t half as bad as it’s made out to be though. Now I have full confidence in the car! I’m hoping to do a few track days this year

Audi (generally) still fit pretty rubbish tyres as standard today - probably yet another emissions driven decision.
