Audi (generally) still fit pretty rubbish tyres as standard today - probably yet another emissions driven decision.
The last new ones I’ve had all had decent Michelin tyres on them.

Based entirely on first hand experience having driven many hundreds of Audis many thousands of miles over a long period of time (on road and on track).

Am quite certain there are those for whom it is an issue but the way the internet propagates the myth is a long way departed from reality.

Much like all Italian cars exploding, Japanese cars being souless, and Range Rovers only being bought by showoffs. Not saying the stereotypes have zero basis in reality but they don't half get overinflated.
Ive had 2 haldex based audi's, it takes a lot of effort to get them in a balanced slide, it just wants to push on i.e. understeer and when i provoked it with teh handbrake, youre unable to fully turn the esp etc off so it gathers it up for you nicely, in a non S or RS car id understand this but both were S cars. The tire size also attributes to this very wide and provides loads of traction but maybe too much for the power / balance. ?!

I test drove a B7 rs4 before getting a c63 and that felt more balanced and a bit rearward led when honking on through the corners,it was a lovely car to drive by comparison of the 'safe and standard cars' they make, a mates s5 with the 60:40 s4 diff was also lovely. Not sure why Audi cant get the torsen diff into the smaller cars, i mean the integrales manage it as did my old evo even with a transverse motor !

I think Audi struggle with the transverse engines, they only about managed to squeeze a DSG onto them in the past few years, otherwise you would be stuck with a multitronic! Realistically, the Haldex based systems are much better for fuel economy, we get terrible MPG in the A6 at times and I believe its from the permanent Torsen system. Saying this, it is a very good system, never ever seen the traction light come on. You won't get the push of xDrive/RWD from a BMW, but you will get a very easy turn in, especially when paired with servotronic in the PAS. Differential gets a bit noisy at motorway speeds however.

So, audi hasn't really been used much as having to wait for the brakes to get sorted, in the mean time i slipped and purchased a full forge engine hose kit in black to keep it looking OEM, next on the list is getting meth installed at AKS tuning then this winter go down the route of a larger turbo.

I do keep debating the idea of selling up and going for an e92 M3 which yes is a much better drivers car and will be more fun to drive, however the audi has had so much spent on it and still only on 33K so seems silly to sell to replace with a car much older and 3 times the miles, i just happen to pull up next to a new rs3 saloon last week that got more than a shock as my little white turd pulled away.

Full forge engine bay silicone hose kit fitted, nice oem upgrade, went for black as it’s nice and subtle and not to Fast and Furious

Gave the car a bit of love this week, rarely get the opportunity to detail mine as I’m fully booked doing everyone else’s pride and joy, but gave it protection detail insuring it stays nice and fresh through our great British weather

So after a long wait i have finally fitted to brake kit, consists of
TTRS Calipers with 370mm discs
Mintex M1144 pads
Hel braided lines all round

Rears are vagbremtechnic discs with standard brembo pads

Fluid is RBF660

bite is fantastic, given me huge amounts of confidence in pushing the car further and not crash into people

The front discs really fill the wheels well. 370mm discs are huge for that size of car, very good.

Thanks for the kind words. I will be reducing them to 362mm ap floating discs to deal with track time and allow a bit more clearance.

Next update Will be meth injection

Great car...really like the discrete look...apart from the brakes there is nothing to give it away !

pole positions are going in soon, was going to go rear cage however now thinking just keep it nice and subtle and just up the power. Wanting a new valved exhaust and a few more chassis mods this winter.

Have to compliment on the work, well executed and discrete in how you've done it.

Any further work / updates planned?

Its only just begun, will be getting forged some point next year with a big turbo kit, recaro pole positions fitted and rear bench retired to match. basically replace everything underneath so its flawless.

Thanks for the kind words, like to keep it subtle until boost comes in
