So, how hard was it to swap out the rack bushes?

I've got an appointment with AW motorworks at the weekend...

Having done my set I’d be able to do the next set obviously a bit easier. I managed to do mine without dropping the rack from the column which undoubtedly made it even harder.

Not the worst job I’ve done, but certainly not the most fun I’ve had on a Sunday.
If you have the option, just get Alex to do them.

The parts pile continues to grow with a little delivery from MOMO.

Not your typical Clio wheel, in fact ive never seen one fitted to a Clio, however one of my all time favourite wheels, the Prototipo classic.

Last part of my steering wheel assembly has arrived thanks to Volantech.
I asked for as discrete button panel as possible for the cruise control.
I’m not a fan of these if I’m 100% but I think it’s as least offensive as possible.

Love the wheel !
I recently bought a late 182, in need of some tlc, the gear box didn’t like going into first gear when stationary, but, it’s now stuck in second gear. On the hunt for a good used gear box.

I’d sell my OEM box but it’s a good one so worth more to me to keep right now.
Used boxes come up cheap but I’d be tempted to get one fully overhauled and then you know exactly what’s inside.

Great service again from Kam Racing. Couple of extra parts to be added over the festive period.

My rims are spaced, but the steering is very twitchy, so I may take them off.

I love the aesthetics of a well spaced rim but I’m dubious they have any positive handling effect so haven’t yet fitted any.
I’d be gutted to take a step back In performance for favouring aesthetics.

Massive thanks to Mike Rainbird at RB Motorsport for helping me secure a great deal on todays Recaro delivery. I’ve known Mike for a lot of years now and his service and attention to detail is absolutely superb.

Unfortunately I’ve now got the agonising wait till i get time and a break in the weather to get these fitted.

You bought these on 9th September and they're still not fitted. Come on man.

Haha, i know.
We had our kitchen ripped out on September 10th and have only just got everything back to normal. My garage was full of white goods and still has a heap of stuff in it. Subsequently ive just not had the time nor been able to get to everything in order to spend some time getting the seats in. My issue is i want to get them in with OEM 3 point belts and this means making up a proper set of brackets to hold a belt receiver that is not only secure but slides with the seat as per OEM.
If i were just throwing them in with harnesses, they would have been in long ago.

That's my excuse and im sticking to it biggrin

I want to have a proper look at it over the Christmas break if i can, although I've a huge pile of other bits i need to fit in that time too.

Great thread. But can’t help reading the number plate as “penis wizard” and sniggering. I am eight years old sometimes...

Haha, you're not the only one. I was teased about it when i first got the car 9 years ago. Even people not knowing of the tease have said it reminds them of "Penis Wizard", so there must be something in it.

I've always found it quite funny so now kinda reluctant to change it biggrin

Finally some more progress.

I had my original wheel trimmed by snappy about 8 years ago and it’s been superb.
However now I’ve decided to modify the car a little I decided the wheel wasn’t keeping with the theme I was aiming for.

So today I managed to get some time to get the Momo Prototipo fitted.
The Prototipo isn’t a choice of wheel I’ve ever seen on a 182 but as my main love is Porsche, it was an obvious choice for me
Not wanting to lose the cruise control feature, I’ve added a small Volantech panel too.
One of the things I never sold off the Impreza was the Works Bell Steering hub. This is a snap off item that also has a bolt on key lock. It was sitting in the garage so decided to add that too.
Undecided if I like it as close as this so far but I’ll wait till the Recaros are in to make a final choice.

Loving the wheel though, Momo wheels are just so lush to use.

Jury still out on the shifter.
Rattles like it was made for a tenner, looks and feels better to use than OE. Still not quit happy with it, but I have some things to try before I rip it out.

The wheel is new but the release is from the Impreza. My Impreza wheel still hangs in the garage. It’s suede so no good for a daily.

Trust me I want those bloody seats in. biggrin

I can’t remember all the details now, but I used Porsche GT seatbelt brackets for my 172 Cup. The thread is still on PH and I guess that would go with your Porsche appreciation, if a bit more pricey than some other options. I just wanted to know that the job was done properly with decent quality parts. Wish I’d never sold it... like nearly everyone else who’s ever had one!
