Is the BTM a copy of the yozzasport system? The builders of the yozzasport systems are still going. Make some very nice systems at JP exhausts in Congleton. I had a Yozzasport on my schrick cammed cup and it was great back in the day.

The original Yozzasport was designed by Fred and BTM and made by JP. When Fred did the Yozzasport 2 it was based on the Orbisoud/Cup racer design and he just called it the BTM.

Picked up a new phone last week so my first attempt at iMovie.
Ive decided to sell the Orbisoud unless i can find a Cup Racer rear box, so i made a vid to show any buyers what one of these sounds like.

So, finally after a few weeks wait, my new exhaust system arrived. Yes I weighed up my options and seriously considered going back to Matt at Simpson’s. However when I started to really dive into it, I was looking at the thick end of £1300

After numerous conversations and videos sent by some good mates, namely @Ash J and @gambit of their PMS systems. I decided to give Nick @Pms a call and see if he could indeed supply me with one of his systems, but I wanted some custom straight cut 3” tips in a brushed finish. The PMS offered a lightweight design, not too loud, full 2.5” and without argument the best and most adjustable mounting system. All of this at less than half the cost of a Simpson setup.

I much prefer brushed systems over the polished stuff, my impreza was the same, as is my Cayman.

Nick kept me updated along the way and sure enough the new system arrived today. I’m exceptionally fussy when it comes to this sort of stuff and was very pleased with the quality. Lighter than the Orbisoud and BTM. The material quality doesn’t feel quite as good as the other 2, probably 90% but the construction and welds are very good indeed. The more you look at the PMS system the more you can see someone has actually sat down and genuinely thought about it. The hangers are adjustable in all directions except vertically.
To address the vertical adjustment I purchased some of the beautifully made Pro-Am stainless mounts. These happen to be 10mm shallower than my mounts so raise the exhaust 10mm, thus giving a snugger fit to the bumper.

I’ve gone for the full PMS decat but have also purchased their cat derestriction piece which I will have welded to my OEM cat for ease of swapping come MOT time.

I decided to fit up the system with the tips over protruding, let it heat cycle and then knock them back to where i wanted after. Easier to tap them in that pull them out I thought.

So after all that, photos photos photos.
The trusty BTM was off once more.

The most important bit everyone wants to know though. How does it sound?

Once home I adjusted the tips back to the bumper line. I just love how purposeful it looks now. 🙂

Looks good, very motorsport...but could you get an additional support for the longer tail pipe to stop the wobble?

I could of course be being a little too anal there biggrin

Lovely note from that Frayz.

Out of interest, how in the name of hayzus' butthole did you get the underside that clean?

Looks worse on the video, it actually doesnt move that much. The PMS hanger design is superb, you have so much adjustment.
Im actually really pleased with it. Its got such a hard edged tone under load now. Proper "race car" noises smile

Haha, i think it just looks clean due to a shiny new exhaust.
Its done 127k of daily driving now, i dont do anything magic to it. Just gets washed every week and i always give the underside a courtesy rinse, maybe that helps. Its certainly no show pony smile

Got my winter Speedlines back from Karl @ Rim Renov8 in Colchester tonight.
Superb job, wheels are mega sparkly, nicely finished and the Speedline logos are paint not decals so they’re perfect and under the lacquer.

Oh and I might have ordered some new EVO Corse X3MAs for it. Not as light as I could have gone but still a solid 3kg per rim less than the Speedline 2118s it currently wears. That’s a big drop in unsprung weight and rotational mass. Oops. biggrin

And they look damn cool. biggrin

After 127k miles my original climate panel was still perfectly functional but the button logos had worn quite badly. Pickup a spare climate panel from a member which was still a sticky sport item but I was going to steal the buttons from it because they were mint. When I stripped it down i decided to clean it all up anyway and seeing as it came up nice, I decided to use it.

I’m still after a tidy non sticky dash tip section and hazard panel if I can find one. I’d love to have these all painted in an OEM satin metallic colour one day along with the door pulls. I’d like to do more on the interior really as it’s where most of my time is in the car.

It’s only a small thing but it makes such a difference to lifting the interior.

Spare panel as arrived.

Spare panel after a strip down and clean up.

My 127k mile panel with tired buttons. (This pic makes it look about a million times worse than it is to be honest ha)

Spare climate panel now fitted.

Cracking work / updates as usual. The new exhaust sounds really good and the underside of your car is indeed really, really clean.

Big shout out to Tony @ VintagsUK for custom making me a pair of new decals. These are absolutely spot on and the silver decal is still an anti tamper VOID when removed.

Some might say expensive for what may be considered as just stickers but well worth replacing the damaged items and getting these details right.

It's this that did it for me. Man after my own heart with the small details, where most would simpy remove the sticker, you've gone to re-creating it. Love it.

How on earth do you get the underside that clean?

Me too mate. They were the lightest Tarmac rally rim I could find. Not as light as Id like at 6.5kg but still a 3kg saving per corner on the Speedlines currently fitted. Hopefully they will still offer that purposeful “motorsport” look i really like.

Thanks, as said before. I don’t do anything elaborate to it. Just try and keep on top of it. It gets driven every single day in all weathers and on 127k Miles now. So guess I just want to try and take care of what I have left lol.

I agree, details are everything when trying to really make something as best as you can. It’s no concours car but those decals were really letting it down. Every time I see the new ones makes me smile now as it just looks so much better. The car is genuinely adored and I want it to look as loved as it is. Ha.
