Introducing my BNR34 (GT-R)
Discussion
It’s all finished now (34)
There’s literally nothing else I could do
Modern turbos ? Maybe does it need more power ...nope
Need to order a spare front splitter from top secret but il do that when I’m there next
32 is the current project focus for now
Just completed my dads forester sti for him but his selling that after 6 years
So 32 goals in getting it back from Midori for now is the plan 👍

hows the reliability?
Its totally fineit's built to be bulletproof
Gio (friend and 1st owner of this car in japan) built it for exactly that purpose.
starts on the button, pushes 1.8 bar fine,
clutch is like a stock one (ATS triple carbon) as he went through 4 of them trying to find the right "pedal feel", HKS etc
having a chat with Smokey post Auto Salon about the car.

The R34 is such an iconic car now but this R34 is on another planet.
It must be unreal to just pin the throttle open (on a wide smooth road) and be jammed into the seat.
Congrats to the first owner fof building the R34 so soon after buying it and you for continuing to modify the car in what looks like a very thoughtful and considered way.
By the sounds of it,you seem to spend a good bit of time in Japan.
It must be great being able to call into legendary tuners like Top Secret and Mines and talk through tuning your car with such legends.
I bet it isn't very easy on the bank account though.
You dont seem to see a lot of cars tuned by the likes of Top Secret or Mines over this part of the world unfortunately...

Far better looking than the current car imho
Lurverly
i use the current model as a daily. It is very easy to use it as one, and quick point to point id say. Lurverly
easy motorway crusier
had to change a few things because OEM is not always best so on went the Volks, Mine's rear carbon spoiler flap, Jun Auto muffler surround. Top Secret Titanium front pipe & Top Secret tanks plus the interior carbon parts from RSW Japan & the Top Secret Carbon front diffuser / Garage Defend Cooling Panel. think thats it for the 35 (TS mats etc inc the boot liner)

yep was pretty crazy when i went for a stage 1 basyside 34 (back in 2007) to this example.
its pretty crazy, but can also drive like a bongo 280ps car too. (excluding the noise on tick over). My friend who built it, we still speak about the tuning process and how that was all done "back in the day)
i do spend alot of time in japan (every since the early 2000s). Modifying has changed alot. it's not about raw power and numbers (excluding some 35s etc).
times move on, (as do the owners) & the economy. Alot of these cars were built in the bubble, and that ended a long time ago. Parts are more expensive, cars have changed to "eco" sized engines etc.
it's more cosmetics these days and styles obviously change too.
Can only echo many of the other comments here, that is a pretty nice looking and well built R34. A proper japanese through and through performance car. The design is timeless and the japanese engineering ethos of power and drivability through intelligent design making it a true motoring icon and japanese high water mark.
Congrats!
PS: The photos probably doesn't do it justice, but I struggle to catch the real colour of the car viewing them? In some shots it looks black, in others there's some sort of flavour to the blackness...?

Thanks. i always say i only did a little bit of the final build. Full credit it to my friend (and the cost of doing it, which i dont really want to say what it was but you could buy 3 new R35s quite easily for the money, looking at the receipts for tuning)Congrats!

the colour is very hard to photograph.
it does change in the light. It is not black, it's more grey, with a dash of dark purple in some ways
