Thanks, I will take another look at the sound settings. I remember dismissing a couple of options on screen as they just sounded too fake and 'cluttered' for want of a better word, like the concert hall sound. I suspect I already have the Clari Fi off too as most augmented sound options on HiFi just don't do it for me. I just want to hear it the way it was recorded and not too bright. I know I'm being picky because when first listening it sounds great. I just find overly 'coloured' sound, especially top end too fatiguing.
Cheers

No worries, once you get it right, I’m sure you’ll be happy. It’s definitely a powerful system, and with the two subs, there is some serious and clear bass when needed.

I love it as a system, but am no expert audiophile.

Not seen this thread before and just read it from the start.

It's a car that's on my radar in the next year or two, thanks for the comprehensive write up and giving the pros and cons.

Hope you continue to enjoy it.

That’s great news!! You can’t beat car collection day! Enjoy it buddy and tell us all about it!

Need to re-read the thread and count the new Stinger owners who’ve posted up here. Definitely three or four have gone for it!!

An interesting video seeing how well the Stinger has aged since its introduction, and also briefly comparing it to the facelift model:

Funny how in Canada they want the rwd model but its not offered but over here you get the opposite with people wanting the 4wd option

I downloaded the brochure for the 2021 model and it looks like they have made a lot of improvements. Surprised there arent any reviews of that one yet as its been out a few months now

I agree, I haven’t seen reviews of the facelift yet.

These two guys want a RWD model because they are driving enthusiasts. But, my brother lives near Toronto and, having visited him several times, your all year round daily has to be AWD. It’s properly snowy and very, very cold for several months every year. It’s -15 this morning he tells me. Often gets into the mid -20s.

The way they just get on with it with winter tyres and AWD is impressive!

I’ll bet it’s the one I was looking at in Grantham frown
Never mind I’ve found a 2018 red one smile

Danum, note that the GTS has significant upgrades from March 2019. See earlier in the thread, but they relate to exhaust, gearbox mapping, infotainment screen and ambient lighting, amongst other small changes.

Not Grantham. I missed out of one too, seem to be picking up on sales of these...

Here it is. No time to play or even connect phone yet! Looking forward to the weekend!

Yeah, but 2019 are out of my price range, the one in Grantham was a steal. 68 plate will do me fine, not too bothered about the exhaust note, or the flappy paddles, never used them much in my current car... a Lexus IS300h, so the exhaust on the Stinger WILL be better. I know the infotainment is better, in fact it’s feels better altogether in the Stinger than my Lexus. Had to be a red one, this is my shade of red and on such a gorgeous car I couldn’t choose another colour, my mate may be a bit miffed as his is red too.

I’m more after the comfort with the ability for a blast when I need it, even to 2.0 litre may have been ok, but they’re not much cheaper so why not go for the best.

Never been a fan of any of the German cars, have been tempted to a BMW or a Merc but only as I couldn’t find anything else worth getting. As I said to my mate, just look at the Stinger, a Beemer just doesn’t compare.

Fastest car I had before this was my Saab Aero, I’m used to getting different cars to the norm.

Hi Vince, all that seems fair enough. I think some ‘68 plates had some of the updates, so it may work for you that way. But, sounds like you know what you want!

The red looks just stunning in the flesh - I looked at a couple and there is one in a village near me which I used to stop and stare at before I bought mine! In fact, I still look at it every time I pass it now!

Good luck with the hunt. Happy to answer any questions if I can.

If the exhaust and default-to-auto paddle control on the early cars aren’t an issue they’re serious value now - there’s a red over red 67 plate on autotrader for 22k. I also saw a cat S for under 20.
Fully loaded, and still with maybe three years warranty left. Can’t argue with that.
Keep regularly seeing a couple of stingers near me, they really stand out in the usual sea of german and SUV... from the wheels they’re only the low fat two litre cars though cool
