Yes, no issues. When do you pick yours up?

The Stinger's got a fantastic sunroof - wherever possible I try and find cars with them.
Personally I'd be driving with it open or tilted most of the time but creaks do my head in.
I'd guess gummi pflege type stuff would be what they use on the seals which should all be accessible with the roof open if it's like other pano roofs I've had. Welds suggests the sunroof rails are spot welded into the roof structure somewhere - maybe they've lubed in between the spot welds too, in case the rails were moving as the body flexes.
Still, there's always the umpteen speakers or the V6 as distractions...
I'm spotting a blue 2 litre almost daily now. Still love 'em!
You are spot on Andy, the roof is fantastic and I used it lots last summer. And yes, the V6 and Harman Kardon do take up most of the listening pleasures, so a mild creak is heard much less often. I have to admit I am perfectionist, but am learning that no car can be perfect all the time....

250 miles today. Silent roof, well a slight creak on departure from Gloucester Services after the car had sat in direct sunlight for 30 mins. But silent after that. Pleased so far. I think, even if it starts creaking again, regular lube and a more relaxed mindset will help. Kia have done all they can.

Otherwise, sooooo good to have the car back. 35mpg today. Easy day with adaptive cruise, lane assist and quality tunes. Happy days. Love this car.

You've had almost exactly the same as I've had on my E500 except they changed the roof, regular lubing has kept mine at bay & an acceptance that it'll always have the odd creak every now & them.

It doesn't help that at times I have the stereo & bassline to a level it partly pushes the sunroof up.

Hi ZX, yes, I have wondered if the bass does cause issues - the Kia has two subs, one under each front seat. It’s incredible with the right song!

Hope your roof isn’t too much of an issue and doesn’t spoil your enjoyment of the car.

I'm looking to get one of these in the next 3 months and this thread is one of the main inspirations. May I ask what sort of mpg are you getting in real world conditions? So, short journeys under 15 miles (which would be my commute), town driving and b roads and finally motorways?

Also other than the aforementioned sunroof creaks are there any other known problems with these cars? I've googled them and other than a few catching fire in Canada which resulted in a recall they appear to be bullet proof.....

Cheers

Hi, no other issues for me or that I am aware of from forums / YouTube.

My commute is 6 miles each way on B roads. I average 26 on that. Closer to 30 on A roads. 35 on motorway. Overall I’m at mid 26s as rarely get onto motorway (especially with the last year) and I do some driving in Bristol which probably doesn’t help.

Happy hunting. I think they’re a great choice and a little different.

I have two 12 JL Audio W6 subs in the boot getting 350 rms watts smile

I've learned to live with (after they changed the roof it was a lot better) it now, it's not to bad really & I only notice the odd noise when I've got the stereo very low.

Can I ask what you pay per month on a Stinger?

If that’s a Q for me, I was a cash buyer. Lease prices were not competitive.

I like that a lot - the black over red really works.

It (exterior) is actually dark grey, looks nicer in flesh than pics.

Just a note about manual mode in gearbox - it does change back to auto in normal modes, however if you are in Sport then it doesn’t appear to change back to auto-mode, which is a bonus! biggrin

Latest update on mine - back from a two-week stay at the dealer.

Roof and headlining stripped right back. Sunroof spot welds strengthened, rails realigned and greased to hell.

Also, and I imagine this was master tech rather than Kia Technical inspired, a polystyrene wedge between the roof lining and the sunroof has appeared.

Whatever was rolling around (I think a nut or similar) under the floor has been located and removed.

Everything has been expertly put back together.
I now have a silent car!

Happy days!
