Jamie there is a really top guy, he'll look after you.

Bear in mind, that was with almost every non-carbon option ticked as I'm not a fan of exposed CF really. A much more sensible spec is probably somewhere in the mid-£90k reigon.

Congrats. I have a 410 Sport this car's predecessor and in always harping on to everyone how brilliant they are.

Jayemm did a fantastic video recently on them. If you are reading this and have a Porsche in the garage immediately stop what you ate doing and go test drive one. You really don't know what you're missing.

Lovely car and sounds amazing!
We leap frogged each other from Torridon up to Ullapool back in September.
It got to the point that my other half had learnt to drop a window in the rain so we could hear you go by smile
We were in a very anonymous red VW UP, notable only for having sea kayaks on the roof.
Cheers
James

Well played.

I drove a 400 at B&C this summer and was stunned by how good it was. I've owned and driven some great cars but the evora may just be the best I've experienced. Keep her long enough and she'll start appreciating again once lotus goes electric steering and the world goes electric everything.

That looks great

If not to personal a question I would be really interested in how they have adapted it to your situation

Great cars, even in base spec like mine.

I can't even begin to imagine how good one of these is!

Great purchase and colour combo. Looks like it’s no garage queen either.

I popped into B&C to see Jamie and after a day of me and MrsG driving Elises, Exiges and Evoras we bought our first Lotus a new Elise 250cup in the summer. Jamie was brilliant in the whole process.

The handover was the best part “it has a radio. I probably wouldn’t bother switching it on” smile after driving it. So much fun on the track and UK B raids.

1. I like Evoras
2. I like bronze wheels (I would!)
3. Though I've gone off vanity plates in general, I do enjoy black humour.

That therefore looks absolutely stunning - well done & enjoy.

If Evora owners are anything to go by, you'll be back for another when the deal comes to an end!

Nice colour combination, and I REALLY APPROVE the painting of the sill area in body colour. The black sill makes the Evora appear rather "cheap kit car"

James! I actually do remember, I think, did I overtake you by any chance? I do vaguely remember overtaking someone with the window down slightly in the rain and hoping they had done it deliberately, it can be rather surprisingly loud if someone isn't expecting it.

Not at all! Here's a pic of the setup:

Lotus Hand Controls by Alex D, on Flickr

So, the steerting ball is somewhat self explanatory, I can only have one hand on the wheel at any one time and it's just a safety thing. The steering isn't light, and if I was using the heel of my hand to spin the wheel around at some point it would slip off, and depending on the situation that could be very bad. I'm thinking of buying a second steerign wheel and modifying it so I can put the stering ball through the wheel, rather than have that big ugly clamp. Something to talk to D:Class Auto about.

The lever below the wiper stalk is connected to the pedals and is very easy to use, pull it for throttle and push it to bake. Dead easy. I don't actually know if I'm going to keep this system though, I might move to a ring system that is closer to what Alex Zanardi uses in his racing cars. I'm very undecided about this, it wouldn't be cheap and it would take some getting used to. Food for thought.

Currently, I'm just enjoying it. I've got some thoughts on interior mods to make it a little more comfortable long distance, and I'm more convinced that I really should wrap all the carbon and black bits (except the A pillars) body colour to see what it looks like. I'd like different mirrors too, the style and positioning of the current ones isn't amazing. The seat could be a little lower too, but that would mean bringing the wheel down and that has an effect on the current hand control setup, so it's not so straightforward.

Halfway through writing this a mate text me saying I've been made readers car of the week. Thanks PH, and thanks everyone for the kind words. Have a pic of the car at Vmax200, credit to Nick with Floorit Photography.

Both are total gaylords.

Actually, wait... you’re one of them!

Vmax website says 193.43mph, because they've got the 6 upside down hehe . It managed 163.43mph, which is slow but that's okay. It's not what this car was built for.
I did a high speed run at Bruntingthorpe in my Evora 400 and only managed 165mph. It was still accelerating slowly so I reckon 175mph is on the cards but the quoted 186mph? I don't think so.... BTW: Love the colour combo on your Evora!
