Great work, may I ask how the ride is? I really want to lower the S180 as the wheels can look alittle lost, however would like to remain as close as I can to the factory ride comfort.

The style of the new wheels are good, I'm hoping I could put on some Rays biggrin

Actually quite like the wheels and fitment you've got going there.

To be fair with you it isn't too bad, it's not as comfy as standard obviously but I never had it with a fully functioning suspension biggrin when I got it the rear shocks were dead, fronts tired etc.. this rides alright, it corners really well compared to before and for my daily commute through country lanes it's fine.

Keep in mind my other car is a honda s2000 with a stiff ohlin setup it so I can only compare to my previous cars and that.

With a slight drop, aka 20-40mm you will be fine, if you go extreme or rim to lip height like mine is right now the ride will be compromised, especially with cheaper suspension.

Thanks, the height will go up and 15-20mm spacers need to up front. Currently the rear fits well but front is way off! Doesn't pass the MCM shoe test biggrin

Bigger issue is the upper control arm hitting the strut tower over major bumps! Need RCAs to correct the geo and will also raise the car a bit to avoid that.
That's when you get all American and start cutting holes in your suspension turrets....... re RCA's make sure you use quality bolts, I've seen someone crash their car because the RCA bolts sheared.

yeah not doing that! I'd rather raise it a bit and space out the wheels to fill the arches smile

I am probably going to get this set -;

from driftworks or go something from ebay, garage-d for e.g.

I’m not a fan of the ‘extreme’ side of the JDM scene (ridiculous stance, excessive lowering, stretched tyres etc). This, on the other hand, looks great, and much cooler than the mainstream JDM stuff. biggrin

I think black is a hard colour to keep nice especially over time, I had to get the Skyline resprayed before selling though I had an excuse in the end as someone drove into it and then drove off!! furious

Lovely car, so interesting.

I would have thought the value of these would be much higher, surprised to see someone mention 5k.

They can be had for under 4k, mine was under 4k smile mind you it did need full suspension refresh but not bad either way.

There is a very rare even in Japan athlete VX for sale on eBay..

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2...

These are the top of the top when it comes to jzs171 and fiddled by Yamaha, limited run of 300...and 300+ bhp smile would love that.

It very much does, I am even glad my Crown is white despite how dirty it gets. If you're anywhere near Southampton I can recommend you the guy that did the Skyline the paint match was incredible on such an old car.

I'm not sure it is but I still do it. Just had the MOT done and it passed no advisories smile They also cleaned it which immediately meant it rained that night...

Pearl white does look amazing in the sunshine biggrin But doesn't look as Yakuza as black.
