Fantastic dedication to a great car! I’ve always admired these. A friend of mine had a 928 S4 manual back when these came out, he was always worried he’d get blown away by these TT cars hehe Your Tiff vid says it was quicker than a 968 - it was quicker accelerating than the whole range!

Enjoy the beast, it’s fantastic to see a ‘standard’ car in such fine fettle smile

Thank you. I’ve always been a 928 fan but struggled to find an S4 manual like your friend had. The performance of the Supra without turbo lag is still wondrous even today.

It’s very refreshing to see a car that hasn’t been destroyed by the chavness of Barry mobile.

Thanks. It’s always ‘stock or not’ for me but we are all different. I think the stock Supra just looks so good. Someone had looked after the black auto I had so I was fortunate to know a lot more about restoring this one.

eek

That engine bay looks like it just rolled off the production line! Top work keeping a 25 year old car that maintained. I too appreciate a standard car (or at the very most ‘OEM+), so this is refreshing to see over the hordes of F+F lemons.

Thank you. I can’t claim all the credit, hats off to the restorers it went to for most of the paint work. Always stressful project managing but very satisfying to see her get the love she deserves.

From a time forgotten when the Japanese made exceptional cars. Which one might someone chose...?

Top Gear - they were planning a piece on the new Supra and apparently Paddy McGuinness is a big fan of the mk4 and they wanted a stock UK car for filming. The BBC contacted Toyota UK who don’t have a car. From the event in 2018 I met a few guys from Toyota UK and my car still goes to a Toyota dealer for maintenance. Toyota very kindly thought of me and asked if I would be willing to help out Top Gear and it started from there. A real privilege to see a production like that. A lot of work for 4 minutes filming!

Thanks for the Megazip tip. I agree with your stock or not comment I was the same with the Skyline, it was ‘only’ a GTS-t but I loved it and kept it OEM for 3 years, unfortunately it had to go and the next owner hasn’t been so considerate frown
Are you likely to go to the Toyota event at silverstone in feb? I am considering taking the Crown. Merry Christmas biggrin

Fantastic to see your car on tv like that. I must rewatch that episode. Did you go and see the shoot / meet paddy. Apparently he is quite a decent sort of chap I’ve heard

Great to see you have this car! What a journey!

Was your black TT Auto Lewis' old car?

Happy Christmas everyone!

Don’t know who Lewis is so no I don’t think it was

Paddy was a really nice guy and seemed to genuinely like the car. A long day but an honour to see it all happen
