Have you been given a day when they’re hoping you can collect it? It’s been long enough!

You can’t make it up.

The X3’s climate control has packed up.

Back into the Rangie for me.

Have often thought I wouldn't like to own an F/G generation BMW without a warranty, you're doing a good job of backing this up!

Did they rebuild it, then? Or get a new engine from ALPINA?

I think it was a new '335d' N57 engine, and then the ALPINA bits were added on

Am honestly expecting a plague of locusts or a volcanic eruption on the day of the OP's collection, given everything that has happened so far .... hehe

Best of luck OP. You have been amazingly level headed. Hopefully many trouble-free miles ahead!

‘63 plate F20 330D MSport auto saloon on 116K miles here. Full BMW warranty.

Parts replaced to date :

New steering rack (should have been replaced after an accident prior to my ownership)

EGR Cooler (they all do that Sir)

Inlet manifold/swirl flap assembly, walnut blast inlet ports and replace IAT sensor. I suspect the car was run on cheap fuel and not allowed to get up to optimal temperature in a former life.

Beyond that, it’s been trouble free. Touch wood smile

Can't they do an extensive road test and shake down on your behalf? I'd be happy for them to hold onto it for longer, to save me being the guinea pig.
