What’s the best way to test this?

That’s right early start and 450 miles, 10 of which were off road.

See it does see pigs too…

Smashed the big 300k too, doing what it does best. Sitting in the outside lane. (Colleague did a cracking job of the photo....)

Surprising MPG for today too!

I thought that Waitey is planning to shift it after this latest milestone. A shame for us, though frown
Potentially yes. Still not 100% decided.

500 miles past 300000 now. All seems well.

MPG settled at 48.3mpg.

The boot is back to doing its game of only opening 6" then requiring a second press of the fob to get it to go. It randomly fixed itself last time.

Waitey - have you seen the other Silver Alpina 3-Series Touring around Beverley?
I think it lives up Victoria Road somewhere, maybe Normandy Avenue?
The 59 plate E91?

It used to be mine! I sold it to Ralph.

That's the one!

Still going strong.
Good car that, apart from the front being slightly purple…

Only needed tyres in 18k of use.

Lost a chunk on it. Bought for £14k and sold for £9k.

Thanks guys. Lovely to meet some of you. Spent far too long chatting and telling Alpina stories!

Great to meet Mike with the Z8. What are the chances of us arriving together!

302k Yesterday.

This tank also did 600 miles, a new record for me. Genuine 47.5mpg over the tank of Diesel.

Will pass 305K today.

Doing a steady 2k/month in it again even with my E46 M3 on the seen.

Looked over a friends M4 the other day (since when did these get down to £17k..!). Drive looked rather BMW heavy (considering the Cobra has E46 suspension and differential too!).

After ignoring a knock from the rear for the best part of 3000 miles.

My friend commented that from the passenger side it sounded like it was coming from the NSF.

Curiosity got the better of me and I had a look at the topmounts. The bolt on the NSF was loose.

I love an easy fix. Back to being silent now.

Cheap motoring!

Were it not for those pesky injectors you'd have gotten away with even less.
Would be 2p/mile if the high pressure pump hadn't popped.

Overall costs have been:

Maintenance - 4p/mile
Depreciation - 2p/mile
Fuel - 15p/mile
Insurance - 2p/mile
Tax - 1p/mile
Servicing - 2p/mile

So all in:

26p/mile

Considering my RS3 was nearly 65p/mile and the Range Rover was £1/mile, this is cheap motoring!
