what a s
t show!
what I am also surprised by is how crap new BMWs are.
every loaner you had seemed to pack up in some way, this is a brand new car we're talking about.
has the rangie been more reliable than the bmws then? they're known to be terrible.
car is awesome, I remember seeing it for sale and was tempted but no need for a diesel.
Rangie has been faultless for 66000 miles, bar a £5k bill for brake issues that I ended up paying £1k of.

Tbh my first 14 plate 335d was perfect for 40000 miles in 12 months.

Interesting
How would you compare the two?
Tough one.How would you compare the two?
Standing start - 335d would be quicker
Rolling start - D3 would have it
The main differences come from all the little Alpina refinements.
Steering 50% better
Suspension 100% better
Gearbox mapping 20% better
Power delivery 20% better
The are identical on fuel usage, mid 40’s for me.

So since I bought this the rear was always a bit bouncy.
After getting all the history checked it was evident that the rear dampers had done 222k!
Anyway while it was at BMW I asked for them to be checked to be told they were fine..... knowing they were most likely knackered, I ordered a set of updated LCI adaptable ones.
On fitting them tonight this is the state of the old dampers...

The one on the left has no oil in it at all and no bump stop left. The adaptive actuator isn’t connected either.
The one on the right has no bump stop left and most of the oil is on the outside...
So yeah, pretty fine BMW...

Waitey...Genuinely pleased for you despite the alleged lack of new engine warranty, (& the rear suspension they allegedly said was fine).
I imagine many might view this thread in the future before making purchase decisions.
I hope that the car behaves itself.......relatively speaking.

Well I've done just over 1000 miles in it since collecting it and its been faultless. I imagine many might view this thread in the future before making purchase decisions.
