Rolled past 227000 miles today.

Fresh set of Goodyear Eagle F1 assyms on the back.

Still going well, although I’ve bought the steering rack bush upgrade kit, should make the old rack feel sharper.

It’s also booked it in for its 230k service at Sytner Nottingham.

6 weeks after collection and there’s 4500 miles on the new engine.

All going well. Needs some new rear tyres though, and a wash.

That looks fabulous dirty. Glad to hear it's all been sorted properly and its ready to many more miles.

Any info on this would be much appreciated (near 120k F30 330D owner looking to tighten things up a bit) smile

Google reckons it’s this kit:

What Helix said.

It replaces the old plastic bush with a metal one.

Ah, many thanks, I've been there, done that. The car went back to the dealer on three occasions to fix a steering based "knock". They fitted a new rack to it under warranty a couple of years ago smile
I was hoping this was some mystical upgraded bush or bushes that secured the rack to the subframe.

That’s it. However you will need the 3 pronged tool in order to remove and replace plus a tube of FB-1 grease.

Rolled over 228k tonight.

Rack upgrade kit and stupid expensive BMW grease is here to fix the knock on the rack too.

Rear pads also came in the post, so will get those on this weekend.

Had to chuckle at the diesel gauge looking a bit on the low side! hehe

I wonder how many litres it has got through in its life/how many fill-ups it has had.

Keep up the good work OP, although every time the thread pops up on 'my stuff' I keep thinking "oh no, what now?"

About 20700 litres worth in its life time!

Give or take £24k’s worth!

New rear pads in, what a ball ache that was.

After being in there for nearly 90k miles, they did not want to come out. Nearly an hour spent on the near side.

The pins were basically welded in and the backing material on the pads didn't want to come off the piston!

Frustrating for the DIYer hey?

In the past I've had to resort to getting a paint stripper heat gun in there for loosen things up with a bit of heat but that takes ages, I guess the pros break out the blowtorch!

Satisfying once you get it done though.

Not with brakes you don't!

Brake fluid is rather flammable...

Final part of my warranty claim has arrived. I had to go pick it up from BMW too...
