Hello all, I missed out on panic buying hand sanitizers and instead, three nights ago I ended up buying a Ferrari 308, at an online auction, unseen and with roughly two hours preparation. Thank you, I am indeed a genius. I present to you the InfluEnzo:

I don’t actually have it yet due to the lockdown so this pic was the wizardry of my mates and photoshop, that is me and that is the actual car. But tache and shirt are photoshopped. With fees I paid £34k. That would have been an ok price in a normal environment but really I should have got it £30k all in for it to have by chance of not losing me loads of money when the world ends and I come to sell.
There are videos about this purchase on YouTube but due to PH rules I can’t post the link. You’ll have to search if you want to see them. In the meantime here is more info and pics.
Car is high mileage, 80k miles, left hooker originally from Holland. Was registered in 81 but is probably an earlier production as still has the single exhaust. It is a Weber carb car not the later injection ones.
Was bought at high risk, in the excitement of the moment I forgot to do the most basic checks. Mot history and HPI. but since I’ve found more info and it mostly looks
like it’s not a total stter. Does obviously need some attention though.. will update you when car is delivered this week.

Absolutely fabulous, thank goodness I’m not the only one who’d do that. Doesn’t sound like a bad deal to me, you’ll be the one having fun and tinkering while everyone else is whining on about depreciation, timing and boring everyone with stories about how they nearly bought a Ferrari.

‘For all sad words of tongue and pen, the saddest are these, ‘it might have been.’

Photoshoppery is top notch too.

I had a similar WTF have I done moment when I bought a new car two weeks before the lockdown kicked off, but hey it's too late to worry about it now.
This era of Ferrari is certainly more appealing to me than any of the modern stuff so enjoy the whole experience while you can.

Hey all, thanks for the supportive comments! It looks like the car will be delivered Wednesday. The place where it is stored is still working as business and are happy to deliver and frankly I’m a bit nervous having paid for it to leave it somewhere for too long in the current climate. We will make sure social distancing is respected when they drop off. Will update you all and post more pictures when I have it!

The night before lockdown I bought my kids a radio control batmobile and a walker that looks like a fox.

I felt guilty about that when Boris, that same evening said the UK is all but closed.

This is far, far better than that!

Looks a beautiful car, I hope you’re happy when you get to see it in the flesh.
