That looks great , I particularly like the stairs sticking out on the nearside , should be good for taking out those oxygen stealing cyclists Seriously though , that looks a lovely thing to go on adventures in
That will just go over any cyclists won't it? Edited by mike-v2tmf on Wednesday 16th December 13:41

Wow!
What a great looking paint job.
Been following the thread a little while but only just started watching the YT channel. Just wanted to say really enjoying it so far and it's something I would like to do myself in the next 10 years or so.What a great looking paint job.
Absolutely love the colour, don't think there's a better colour combo really. Always a tricky one with ex-military vehicles as you don't want to give people the wrong idea when you visit certain countries so orange is perfect and the actual colour chosen is awesome.
Good luck with the rest of it and looking forward to seeing some adventures.
About 6 years ago I went overlanding in a truck from Cape Town to Nairobi and had the absolute best time. Very well set up for that kind of travel down there as well.

Thanks for the support and kind words. I'm really pleased how the colour came out and it's doing exactly what I had hoped. In some strong light such as sunlight, it's nice and bright so very visible, and towards sunset it softens and lets it be a little more stealthy. Chatting to some friends who did mongolia, they said "Trust us, you don't want to be too bright because p*ss*d Russians going home stop and bang on the door at midnight just to find out who you are. And that's just the cops."
‘Ello my little Piston’ead chums. Latest update as we slide into Christmas.
Success as Rosie bags a cancellation slot at the Ministry test centre and gets stamp of road going approval.
For those not in the know, HGV testing is tougher than car testing and recent changes in law such as tyre age, under run bars etc etc make it harder to keep up. So it’s sometimes hit and miss.
E.G a fellow owner took his exact same model truck to a centre and they wanted to charge him a fortune for missing bits like reflective side tape.
Thanks to all of you who have given me words of encouragement, you can’t understand how important that has been to me to keep moving forward.
I wish you all as Merry a Christmas as you can muster, and a Happy New Year.
Look out for the Christmas YouTube special, got some interior and close up shots coming.
Have a great time.
Nb pic is for attention only, the original went off with registration docs.

Congratulations - it's one hell of a project! Thoroughly enjoying the YT videos.
Question - what's the inside of the cab going to be like? Is it going to feel like driving an old school military relic or are there modern amenities in it to make it more comfortable?
I'm thinking aircon, cruise control, comfy seats, sound deadening, etc?

Just as a heads up, the redaction of some info isn't very good, can make out pretty much all of it and I expect with a bit of editing, all of it. I haven't quoted the image, in case you want to edit it a bit

They have aircon and cruise as standard, the seats are comfy and hard wearing. Its actually pretty nice for a truck inside. Guess sound deadening would make them better.Question - what's the inside of the cab going to be like? The cab has many good points such as aircon, cruise, air suspended seats, heated mirrors. These positives outweighed the negative of the more complex engine/ECU's and worry about it breaking down over earlier, older trucks. There is some insulation/sound proof on the ceiling but it is pretty utility in there. So, the main points are;
Sound deadening to the floor, centre engine cover and back walls, then automotive carpet.
Re trim door cards and seats in matching with something to pick up the exterior so dark grey & orange stitching probably.
Paint any remaining visible green metal, black.
Fit a good sound system. I've got a Pioneer double din and a pair of 'Loudest' brand 6x9's. Will add an amp plus some mid range fronts and a pair of directional HF units on the dash.
Phone system
Reversing and n/s blind spot cameras that hook up to the Garmin truck Nav system.
Fit the WBV in a better location so I don't trip on it but still have access to hot water for brews (save's going in the back).

Thanks, I had noticed it was a very shoddy attempt .To be honest, If some one wants to go to the trouble of doing that, I'm thinking there's not a lot that will stop them But I do appreciate the heads up.

Do the steps rattle on idle? If so, (this used to do my head in when serving). I used to life the step on the wire, slot a cable tie in between the step and the cable then hammer down on the step to tighten it all up, then chop the excess off.
No more rattle.
Looks awesome!

Thanks for the tip, I was told about this and mine don't rattle. Everything else seems to
