Just noticed this one showing the little Land Rovers how it's done at Rufford Ford.

The number of times I've been sent to vehicles stuck in Rufford Watersplash laugh, a few of which were washed downstream!!

Happy days

Also looked like it was going topple down that bank!

Merc for £150k
Or
Rosie for £50k + plus some interior work

.. I know which I'd go for!

Yes, second one along was Rosie. First one belongs to a friend who's truck is in build coming out after Rosie.

That was probably driver error, I have to say ;-)

You have to understand what went into the build of that to understand why it was that price.
Chassis was extended to take a longer box.
All the interior hand built
All the wiring.
Plumbing.
The top deck with marine grade stainless rails, teak floor and a custom roof tent styled like a bedouin tent.
Etc
Etc.
If you knew the number of hours that goes in to making it, you would know why it's the price it is.

I'm doing my own interior, partly for the experience and partly to reduce that additional cost.
The quote for my electrics ONLY. Just the major pieces of hardware to control and store electricity is £3,500 biggrin

Oh not knocking it at all just couldn't believe that a 2007 machine could be modified so much to make 350k. Maybe more reliable/less electrical than the newer stuff.

I'd prefer some old nail that I could double-declutch and rev-match flat out everywhere biggrin

Have to say the machine I enjoy driving most was build in 2001, has a manual box, 15.1-litre V8 twin-turbo, and has 1800nm biggrin

Also, fair play for doing a lot of it yourself, that's where the fun part is. I get why they spent the cash there, to get a superbly reliable 10 years on the road without any hiccups - for me, the hiccups and modifications along the way are all part of the fun.

Woo! Got a date for the return of the truck. Not long to go now.
So excited. I literally haven't seen this truck in the metal for a year.

In other news ordered all the electrical components today. And when I say 'electrical components' I don't mean the fridge etc. I mean the inverter, the batteries, the control systems for the power grid blah blah. The batteries alone were over a grand spin

A buddy of mine is moving to Portugal when lockdown is over and his new solar setup just arrived (and wired up etc on the garage roof!) - Victron bits and pieces, came to over 8k. redface

Well today should have been collection day, but sadly that has been postponed for a couple of technical reasons.
Mainly being “it’s not finished”.
Despite being impatient to get it, it also needs to be right.
Here’s a few teasers that I got today showing the roofracks. There is a debate on the centre one being big enough to take a hot tub.... biggrin

Those roof racks are ace, and it feels weird to say it but they tie the truck together...

Nope not weird, it's exactly what we/they wanted to happen. So I'm very grateful you said that! The box on the rear looked a little out of place at first but we knew the vision. Once the rear carrier is on, and the orange colour matched vinyl design is applied to the grey, it very much should 'flow'.

That's the theory anyway.

Squeee! Countdown to collection has begun. Getting tremendously close now. Over the weekend and I shall be behind the wheel heading back for the sunny South West.
One the things been waiting for is this mahoosive winch mount. I know you fine blokes and blokesses like a bit of engineering.
Check this out!

I love this project.

When you see the silly prices about, over £100k for a pimped up Sprinter, this seems remarkably good value.

It looks the dogs danglies, I bet you'll be giggling all the way home on collection.
