Looks seriously impressive, I wish I could just pack up and leave everything behind like this, enjoy the adventure.
Me too. It's taking some doing let me tell you. But a divorce, a few close friends dying from Cancer or Covid and you soon say to yourself "What the f**k". Obviously if you are with someone, kids, parents and grandparents near by or a business etc etc. It gets harder. I just didn't want to be on my deathbed with regrets. Anyway, that's partly what my blog/vlog is about. Doing what appears to be the tough thing.
Thanks for the support and the interest. I will be back soon as I have an update. The next one is going to be in a few weeks, after I have been to see the box builder.
Dai1983 can probably tell you more, but the crash protection of these was brought into doubt after front seat passengers lost legs when they rear ended an apc.
Riding in the back was a bloody awful experience too - lots of holes in the floor / walls meant any dust kicked up from the road / track went straight in the back

And this is the current interior design. Needs a slight redesign as the battery box is under where the door is, meaning the steps and landing can't store so the door has to move along. No matter as I'm not fitting a full height fridge anyway, so that tall cupboard can go. Probably put a small wardrobe in by the door.

Thanks, the cab is pretty exposed place to be for your legs. But then if you drive into a stationary APC with anything, it will f**k you up - unless you are in another APC I guess. Also, and I'm not saying this was the case, don't ride with your feet on the dash hand grip. On the plus side, stands up well to old beige Astras (n.b. No one's Grandparents were hurt in the incident)
Maybe you can have some inspiration from here ? :

Looks good, that is a lot of space for a camper. Will you be putting a boat type sink/shower in?CAD 3D LAYOUT .

Didn't know about that but against soft skinned cars they are a bit higher up and have the front bash guard panel. Our divers would usually run into road side furnature, need recovering from ditches or they'd just go big and roll them on a dual carriage way.Riding in the back was a bloody awful experience too - lots of holes in the floor / walls meant any dust kicked up from the road / track went straight in the back
Best thing I drove was an OSHKOSH tractor unit without a trailer. It was pretty rapid and it felt like you were in Madmax especially with the turbo noise.

This is as far as we got before Covid kicked in. Rear body off (5m x 2.5m steel bed, plus sides/drop tailgate, hoops and canvas) which I managed to find a buyer for.
Has a rear self recovery which too? Quite a few needed diesel bug treatments due to being sat on the vehicle park for ages.Handy quick reference guide for the error codes as the MoD diagnostic stuff was crap and hamfisted mechanics meant the OBD2 ports were screwed.

It will have a winch for self recovery and pulling the spares mount into place. The two spares weight 120kg EACH. Plus a moped get about thing.
I’ve removed the existing spare wheel frame as you need two anyway, plus, useful storage space.
The 25000lb Winch arrived special order from Australia. Sadly arrived damaged thanks to TNT. But they have been good as gold shipping new parts.
I’m going to do a vlog special on the winch because I think it’s the first one possibly in the UK?

They do say these trucks have more boat about them than caravan. That said, I expect to run with a domestic style wet room. Unlike a boat, the vehicle will be stable and level when shower/washing so shouldn't need boat type.I'm more concerned about the type of toilet I'm going to fit
